The second episode of The Kardashians started off with the dramatic revelation that serial cheater Tristan Thompson had proposed to Khloé.
The episode also cleared up any confusion of the timeline of the season, explaining to audiences that the “remainder of season two was filmed 6 months before the first episode” which focused on the arrival of Khloe’s second child.
Taking fans back to the events of February 2022, which included the birth of Kylie’s second child, a conversation between Kim and Khloé revealed the shocking admission that Tristan had proposed.
Khloé told Kim that her and Tristan’s relationship was “the best it had ever been” before the news he was expecting a child with another woman. Now, she admitted, her joy had been replaced by shame.
“Shame on me almost, I know better and I didn’t do better because I had so much hope and faith,” she told Kim, before labelling the relationship “humiliating” and “hurtful.”
“Just because someone does you dirty doesn’t mean you fall out of love with them instantly.”
“You can’t worry about what’s humiliating” Kim explained during the episode, before dropping the bombshell that Tristan had proposed.
During a confessional, Khloé was asked if “Tristan proposed to you?” to which she replied with a one-word answer – “yeah.”
“The fact that he proposed and he never told us” Kim began, before taking more issue with the fact that Khloé hadn’t told them either.
Kim then retold her version of events, explaining that she believed Tristan was planning to propose on Valentine’s day – before discovering that he had actually proposed six months earlier.
Khloe then explained that she hadn’t shared the news at the time because she never said “yes”.
“I needed to make sure this is a totally different relationship – because I want to be proud to say I’m engaged to anyone” she explained.
She also shared that she wasn’t comfortable accepting the proposal because “she wasn’t excited to tell my family.”
“As hurtful as that probably was for him to hear, it was the truth.”
