Kim Kardashian has opened up about her children’s relationship with their father Kanye West amidst their co-parenting relationship.

Speaking in a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim offered some insight into her eldest daughter North’s relationship with Kanye, telling her sister Kourtney, “[North will] be like, ‘Dad is the best. He has it all figured out’.”

“[Kanye] doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, he doesn’t have security. He lives in an apartment, and she’ll start crying, ‘Why don’t you have an apartment? I can’t believe we don’t have an apartment’.”

Similarly to Kim, Kourtney, who co-parents children Penelope, Reign, and Mason with former partner Scott Disick, shared a similar sentiment, telling Kim, “I feel like everything falls on the parent that’s more involved.”

“They do that at Scott’s too. ‘Dad has the best house, your house sucks… It’s not super big. The vibe is better’,” Kourtney continued.

Kim’s latest statements come over six months since The Kardashians star last spoke on the dynamic between herself and Kanye.

“Something I learned is that you cannot help people that don’t want the help… It’s okay to have those different views. It’s why the world goes round, but if you don’t align in the same values and morals and things at your core… you should go and find the people that do align with what you really believe in,” Kim told On Purpose with Jay Shetty.

One month after their divorce was finalised in November 2022, Kim previously opened up about the impact of her divorce on her four children.

“I’ll do anything to keep their life as normal as possible,” Kim stated on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, adding, “One day, my kids will thank me… for not bashing their dad.”

“I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids. In my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on [in] the outside world.”

While the former couple were still married, Kim took to The Real to share how Kanye’s newfound commitment to Christianity had impacted his parenting style and relationship with his children.

“I obviously want to honour him and what he’s feeling. And he’s been going through this life change, and it’s mostly about the kids,” she shared.

“We got rid of TVs in the kids’ rooms and removed makeup from North’s room – and he’s been very… had this, you know, an epiphany of being this— not that he wasn’t an amazing dad— but being a little bit more strict as a dad and being very forceful on the imagery that’s in our household and what they see.”

While Kim previously stated that the drastic changes had been partially beneficial to her family, she still believed a healthy relationship must include a level of compromise.

“I think, at the end of the day that’s what marriage is. He’s gonna do things that I don’t agree with, and I support him, and vice versa. So, with this, it was like we were like just having this conversation of what is too much.”

Her previous comments came three weeks after Kanye had stern words with Kim for letting North wear eyeliner and lipstick in public.

While at a dinner party for the launch of her and supermodel Winnie Harlow’s KKW x WINNIE collaboration, Kim opened up about their tiff, revealing that although she’s always been a big supporter of their daughter experimenting with different looks, Kanye had since put a stop to it.

“I’d let her wear — you know, she has a little red for Christmas — I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something… So, I kind of got in trouble for that. So, it’s now no more makeup.”
