The parent company of the 106.5 FM station, Australian Radio Network, has not only extended Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s KIIS FM contracts but upped their salaries exponentially.

This morning, the station confirmed the popular radio duo— whose show is the number one FM breakfast show in Sydney— is set to earn a maximum of $50 million by the end of 2024.
According to reports, their staggering deal will see them remain on air until the end of 2020 and earn $7-8 million each per year. That means they will earn more than $39,000 each morning.
Speaking to news.com.au after the announcement was made, the radio shock jock was surprisingly humble about his huge salary.
“I don’t discuss the absurd amount of money I get given to do something I love,” he said. “Don’t get me wrong, the money’s fantastic, but what really counts for me is the acknowledgement that what Jackie and I have created is one of the most successful shows on earth,” he said.
He continued: “There is no secret to the show’s success. Ultimately it’s genuine chemistry. I love working with Jackie and that simply can’t be created; it’s either there or it’s not.
“A lot of other stations throw strangers together and scratch their heads when it fails miserably. Radio’s actually really easy, it’s just bad programmers that make it unnecessarily difficult.”
The extension of their contracts— in what is believed to be the biggest media deal in Australian history— comes weeks after Kyle landed himself in hot water with thousands of their listeners. The controversial host was slammed for calling Virgin Mary a liar, claiming she was probably impregnated “behind the camel shed.”
“You might believe everything that was written down 2000 years ago to be absolutely accurate. Good on you, you’re dumb,” he said.
After the comments angered many groups, he was forced to apologise and the segment was taken down from their social media pages.
“I’m sorry if I offended anyone with my comments,” Sandilands told The Daily Telegraph. “Everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs and I’m fully supportive of that right,” he said.
Less than a week after returning, he was back to his old ways, leaving this year’s Bachelorette Angie Kent speechless after asking whether Network 10 producers “threw a few blacks in for you” when talking about the cast’s diversity.
After an awkward silence, Angie gracefully replied, “I asked for all shapes and sizes!”
The unscrupulous comments continued with Kyle asking whether producers invited “a wheelchair person” to audition for the series, referring to disabled people.
