The model said her mother is now showing heavy symptoms of COVID-19.

“I don’t think this looks like a 5-star accommodation to me,” Worthington tweeted.

“The next 14 days here for my 63-year-old mum who is showing heavy symptoms. This is unacceptable.”

But, according to 7 News, eagle-eyed social media users suggested all is not as it seems.

Several pointed out the hotel is The Urban Newtown, which is rated as a 4-star hotel. It’s supposed to be grunge-chic.

In Worthington’s tweet, the chair does not have a cushion and the curtains have been pulled closed, which makes the room look smaller and dark.

Here’s what the room normally looks like:

A number of people took issue with Lara’s complaint.

Seriously?? So maybe she should have come home earlier. I have no sympathy – there was no guarantee of 5 star accommodation. You take what you get and just because she’s your mom doesn’t mean she is entitled to 5 star service,” one said.

Another added: “Be thankful she had a roof over her head. No time to be precious Bingle.”

“Where the bloody hell are my privileges??!” another said.

Others said Worthington’s mum should look on the bright side and be grateful she is Australian and is now home.

Perhaps the most liked comment of the lot was: “Seriously, read the room, Lara.”
