Laura Byrne has thrown her two cents worth into the drama that is this year’s Married At First Sight.
The former Bachelor star spoke to News Corp about the recent claims made by current MAFS stars that they had been poorly edited.
Laura – who is pregnant with her first child to partner Matty J – slammed the idea, insisting that the TV stars needed to take responsibility for their actions.
‘I think that you have to be genuine as a person to who you are,’ she said.
‘Don’t be an a**ehole to get airtime because it’s not going to be in your favour. The backlash is not nice, no-one enjoys it,’ she added.
The 32-year-old jewellery designer’s opinion could be seen as a subtle dig at this year’s villain Ines Basic, who has been hogging headlines with her on-air antics.
Speaking further about the editing process, Laura added that contestants needed to take responsibility for what they say during filming.
‘I do think it’s 50-50 in that the edit can manipulate, however, at the end of the day people still say the things that they say.’
Laura’s comments follow current MAFS star Lauren Huntriss’ claims that she was given a “disgusting edit” on the show.

Laura’s comments follow current MAFS star Lauren Huntriss’ claims that she was given a “disgusting edit” on the show.
‘I felt disgusted (when I first saw the edited version) and I was so upset. Then I received so much hate,’ she revealed during an interview on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.
‘For them to paint me as this nympho, it was disgusting. I feel so let down.’
