The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has commenced legal action against ticket resell website Viagogo.
The ACCC has alleged that Viagogo made false representations, and engaged in misleading conduct, regarding the price of tickets by failing to disclose substantial fees.
They also allege that Viagogo misled consumers by stating that tickets to certain events were going to run out soon.
Ticketek has welcomed the announcement whilst urging consumers to be suspicious of all online resellers and only trust official ticketing agents.

Tickets to Ed Sheeran’s upcoming Australian shows were recently being scalped on Viagogo for up to more than double the original price.
To help keep music fans safe, Ticketek introduced a legitimate way to buy and sell tickets: Twickets.
