Channel 9 news reporter Leila McKinnon has taken to Instagram to share some sad family news with her followers.
The journalist has revealed her father has passed away after being in an induced coma for more than a month.
“This is my Dad, Mac, with my son Ted. Dad died yesterday,” she announced alongside a snap of the loving grandfather and his grandson.
“I take comfort in knowing that he showed me every day of my life how to be a wonderful parent. What a lovely legacy for me and my children,” she continued.
Earlier this month, the 44-year-old revealed her father’s health was deteriorating alongside a childhood photo.
“My lovely dad Mac has been critically ill and in an induced coma for nine days. His doctors and nurses are amazing and we feel fortunate to have their care and expertise. It’s been hard but the love and support we have been offered by so many people is something special ❤️,” she wrote.
