Liam Hemsworth is a young Hollywood superstar with some regrets—on the list, a back injury from surfing which saw him spent the early part of 2016 laid out flat on his back—but proposing to Miley Cyrus is not one of them.
Hemsworth, 26, spoke of his love for the singer in an interview promoting his new movie Independence Day: Resurgence
“I don’t think that was impulsive. That was a well thought-out idea,” he said of getting engaged at 22, when his The Last Song co-star Cyrus, 23, was just 19.
Although the pair later split up, their romance has been rekindled to the point where she’s wearing her mega engagement ring again and sources tell WHO the pair are planning to wed.
After being spotted together ringing in the new year in Byron Bay, Cyrus and Hemsworth have kept a low profile. The singer and actress “is very focused on making things work with Liam,” a source told WHO, which meant she swapped her wild child ways for Instagrams of her wearing bunny pyjamas. Cyrus even bought a house on the same Malibu street as Hemsworth’s beachfront house, so they could nest under the radar.
Most recently, the Happy Hippie Foundation founder posted a mirror selfie wearing a shirt emblazoned with “HEMSWORTH” on the back.
Speaking of their on and off again relationship, Hemsworth addressed the rumours in May, telling GQ magazine, “People will figure it out, they already have. . .They’re not dumb.”
