REVIEW: This is the only movie I don’t like Liam Neeson in

I'm just as shocked as you are.

Liam Neeson is by far, one of the most recognisable action drama actors in Hollywood.

He seems to play the role of the mysterious struggling underdog hero with ease.

But if he were cast as a comedic character in a PG rated movie, I’d be looking at him the whole time waiting for him to turn around and say “I have a very particular set of skills.”

So when Neeson was announced as part of the cast for WidowsI jumped at the chance to check the movie out before it hit theatres.

The film was incredible – I give it 4 out of 5 stars – but sadly, Neeson’s character just didn’t live up to expectations.

I won’t give away too much, but he plays the role of an armed robber who leaves behind his grieving wife.

Maybe it was how his character ended, but I really just don’t think the storyline did such a great actor justice.

I’d rather watch Neeson in Taken any day of the week. Wow, what a classic.

On the other hand, the storyline of Widows is absolutely brilliant. It’s the best mix of action and drama paired perfectly with a clever storyline and just the right amount of twists and turns.

Others may disagree about Neeson, but I encourage you to watch the film and then judge for yourself.

Widows hits Australian theatres on Sunday November 18th.
