Podcasting duo Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley have announced today that their show, Life Uncut, will be moving in part to radio, joining the KIIS1065 network for a 10am-12pm slot on Saturdays.
Brittany and Laura took to the Life Uncut Instagram page to share the announcement.
“Cat’s out of the bag, Lifers … we have some BIG news,” they shared.
“Life Uncut is coming to the @kiis1065 network from 10-12 Saturdays. It will be all the things you love about the pod, except a little bit more professional (a little bit less poo talk) but equally as hilarious and heartfelt.
“This is a pinch yourself moment for us and we are so excited for next year, brace yourself Australia … Britt’s laugh is coming for you!” they explained.
The ladies also confirmed they would continue to do their pre-recorded podcast, which currently comes out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
“This is in addition to the pod,” they wrote in answer to a fan who commented, asking if the podcast would continue.
Life Uncut has a very dedicate fan base of ‘Lifers’, as they’re called, who will be thrilled to be getting more of Brittany and Laura in the year to come.
Laura and Brittany were both of Bachelor fame before beginning their podcast together, with Laura winning season five of the show, and Brittany making it to the finale of season six, where Nick Cummins famously chose neither of his finalists.
Life Uncut launched in July 2019 and has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity, now sitting in the top three in both the Top 100 and Top 100 All-Australian podcast ranker, along the likes of the notoriously well-loved Hamish and Andy podcast, and Australian true crime sensation, Casefile.
They also won the Listener’s Choice Award at the Australian Podcast Awards last year, and are asking their fans to vote so they can win once more in 2021.
“We’ve always really had a close connection with our audience, and that’s only grown over time,” Laura told MediaWeek.
“It hasn’t been something we’ve moved away from, we’ve leaned into it as the years have gone by.”
Teaming up with KIIS to deliver the new program, ARN announced this morning that they would be targeting and building up audiences on Saturdays, which has been identified as the ‘sixth work-day’.
Life Uncut is just the first show to be announced, with more expected in the lead-up to the new year.
“Brittany and Laura are made for radio and the show will provide the audience with conversations and interviews that navigate friendships and relationships in a way that’s entertaining and engaging,” said Duncan Campbell, ARN’s Chief Content Officer.
The new radio show will go live across the KIIS network, except on 96FM, from January next year.
