Lisa Wilkinson is shaking off rumours of a feud with Peter Helliar over his throwaway comment on the 10th anniversary of The Project.
The television host is currently holidaying in Italy with her husband, Peter FitzSimons, and flooding her Instagram feed with pictures of her lavish getaway, proving that she is unbothered by the scandal.

The 59-year-old is on a romantic vacation around Italy with her husband of 25 years (a Sydney Morning Herald columnist who also hosted a radio show at 2UE until 2007).
In one photo, the mother of three smiled in front of a green door as she explored an Italian town.
Flaunting her European find, Lisa captioned the photo:
“Hellooooo holidays. 🌺🌹🌸 Ciao Italy! 🌞🏖🍕🥂 (And already I’ve found me some holiday door porn. Never takes long…😀) #doorporn #italy #holidays”
In another photo, the former Today show host appeared to be sitting with Peter on the steps of a building in Castelmola high in Sicily, quite literally floating on a cloud.
Lisa appeared to be fully embracing her Italian adventure, donning herself in a long-sleeved red dress.
The star captioned the photo:
“Made our way up to heaven today….actually, it was a gorgeous little medieval village called Castelmola high, high above the coast behind Taormina in Sicily, but it sure felt like heaven… Also got my first taste of lemon granita! Oh. My. Lord!!! Who’s been keeping THAT stuff a secret??”
Her romantic getaway seems to be the perfect distraction from her recent scandal with The Project, where she reportedly left the 10th anniversary of The Project early, after her co-host Peter Helliar made a jarring comment that left her reeling.
The Australian reported that the comedian “unwittingly” singled out Lisa as an “outsider” amongst his fellow co-hosts, Carrie Bickmore and Waleed Aly, when he said, “We love having you on our show.”
The publication said this prompted the 59-year-old to shuffle “offset” just half an hour into the 90-minute broadcast.
“Diary hears she was not sighted again, either during the 90-minute-plus extravaganza or the after-party,” said the report.
On the other hand, Peter, Carrie and Waleed— who have been working alongside each other on The Project since 2015— reportedly stayed for the after-party and gave heart-felt toasts to each other.
“You are the show!” Peter gushed about Carrie, who has been a panellist on The Project since it’s inception in 2009.
“You are the soul of this show and it is an honour to work alongside you,” the Aussie comedian said.
Despite his barb, Lisa took to Instagram to honour her co-panellists a couple of days after the celebrations.
“Here’s cheers to an amazing decade…and an extraordinary bunch of colleagues – both on and off-air – who are everything I imagined them to be,” Lisa wrote in the caption.
The mother-of-three also posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the 10th birthday celebration episode, writing, “Ten years of @theprojecttv And I’ve never felt more at home than with these amazing humans.”
The former Today show host joined The Project last year, after leaving the popular Channel 9 breakfast show over a pay dispute.
