Her romance with Married At First Sight wife Tash Herz went sour to say the least but Amanda Micallef has officially found love.
This week, the season seven MAFS bride went public with an exciting new romance, sharing three adorable snaps featuring her girlfriend, Lana Wollington.
“Lana, you took my world by complete surprise,” she penned in her caption.
“While I was quite content being single, and going on occasional dates, I never expected us to hit it off the way we have. Our first date, Burleigh Hill with a green juice on a picnic rug with a bush Turkey who almost attacked us lol,” she reflected of their date in Queensland’s Burleigh Heads.
Amanda went on to say: “To say you tick all the boxes is a bit of an understatement. I’ve never met anyone as invested into love and open to all the possibilities that come with it as much as you!!! “
“I love us, I love how much we laugh, or the way you tap your finger on your lips when you’re saying goodbye on face time. I love how sookie you get when I need to get off the phone. I love that you’re spiritual. And kind, and grounded! I love your eyes and your lips, and your laugh. I love that sexy tatt on the back of your leg that sits just below your booty. Funny how we have the same bent canine tooth and the fact that we’re both allergic to penicillin.”
Amanda finished her loved-up post by expressing her excitement about their future together.
“I’m looking forward to sharing you with the fans, and having fun with this whole social media thing. And more privately, building a real life together. I’ve always dreamt I could have it all. You have and hold the kind of qualities I’ve searched for in a partner for so long. It’s so effortless with you, you want what I want and you love what I love!”
“Thank you for being kind, and a little crazy for me, as I am a little crazy for you, I love you.”
The tribute was met with many likes and messages of congratulations
“She’s gorgeous, congrats, cheers to being happy,” one wrote beneath the post.
“Congratulations hun l am so happy for you. She is beautiful,” remarked another.
Lana herself sweetly commented: “Absolutely obsessed with you, and all that we are together. I love you.”
Back when she starred on MAFS, Amanda and her bride Tash became the show’s first same-sex couple following marriage equality being legalised in Australia. However, the two clashed and left the season not long after their wedding.
Later that year, Tash made shock claims against her TV ex-wife and broke her silence in a lengthy Instagram post.
“I’m no longer scared. I want people to know what it was like for me, if they are curious or can’t understand through the editing and vilifying, what it was like to be constantly asked why you don’t want to be around someone that feels they are owed physical affection, love and fame no matter how many times you have explained, kindly, that you do not feel comfortable giving them that,” Tash wrote at the time.
“Again, I will remind you all, YOU DO NOT OWE ANYONE PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL OR SPIRITUAL LOVE. Thank you to everyone that has supported me this year, it’s been a rumble.”
