Speaking to New Idea about welcoming their bundle of joy, the tired but elated reality TV couple revealed Cyrell’s birth was “traumatic”.
“I probably took every drug you could take during labour,” she said. “I ended up getting cut as well, and because I genuinely couldn’t push anymore, he also had to get suctioned out.”
While she says the shock of such a painful labour and delivery has changed her mind of giving her newborn a brother or sister, they’re totally in love with their gorgeous baby.
“He’s so cute, I’m already obsessed with him,” Cyrell gushed. “He doesn’t cry loudly, he’s a quiet boy. He didn’t get a loudmouth like his mum!”
“It’s so surreal, I’m just looking at him knowing that we created this little baby,” Eden added.
Despite the fact the couple can’t agree on a name— and are calling him “bub” until they decide— they are well aware he’s a perfect blend of both his mum and dad.
“When he arrived, the midwife said he looked like his mum,” the controversial TV star said. “But then another nurse came in and said he looked so much like his daddy. So he’s got a bit of both of us.”
During the heartwarming chat, the couple opened up about the highs and lows of their tumultuous relationship, revealing why, after momentarily splitting two months ago, they decided to give their courtship another shot.
“We’re focussing on being a great couple together and being great parents to our baby,” said Cyclone Cyrell— a name she earned after throwing a glass of wine on her MAFS co-star Martha. “At the end of the day, most families want to be together and not separated.”
“Because we didn’t have such a bad breakup, co-parenting and working it out together wasn’t something I was stressing about,” she added.
Although she once opened up about the “unspeakable pain and disappointment” of bringing a child into a broken home, Cyrell and Eden said the thought of reconciling was never out of the realm of possibility.
“The breakup was very simple. It was about certain changes I’d like to see within Eden, and Eden wanted some changes with me. A lot of people thought it was so massive and that it was over so many things… it was actually quite catty!”
“When we realised that was more important than us being apart, and trying to make things work, we just decided to do that for one another,” Eden added.
“In every relationship, people always break up and makeup. Cyrell and I have always been close and we didn’t have a nasty break up. We just took a little break. And then we got back together. It wasn’t nasty at all. We’ve always been friends.”
