The growing love between cowboy Sean Hollands and Perth-based truck-driver Susan Rawlings has been one of Married at First Sight’s most heartwarming and rewarding storylines. But fans were left questioning the authenticity of the union when it was revealed that the 35-year-old father of two has a profile on acting website Star Now, which states producers find him a “natural” in front of the camera.

“I’m not an actor and I never have been,” Sean tells WHO, insisting the only reason his profile appears on the site was so he could appear on television game show Family Feud last year. “I went on Married at First Sight for the right reasons, to find love,” he continues. “Some others [on the show] might not be as genuine but I think the audience can spot the difference.”

The Nine Network has also released a statement confirming Sean isn’t a paid professional actor, saying; “Sean was cast in Married at First Sight as a single father of two looking for love. He is not an actor, and has no prior acting experience.”

Sean also defends his relationship on the show, telling WHO, “My feelings for Susan are real. They are genuine. There is no-one choreographing what I am doing or telling me what to say.”

For Susan, 37, Sean—and their relationship—is the real deal. “We are completely in love,” she says. “We spent the time on the show talking about all our feelings. It’s real.”
