Married At First Sight’s Josh Pihlak has hit back at Cathy Evans‘ bombshell revelation their co-star Connie Crayden was a “mean girl” behind the scenes.

Taking to Instagram to address this outlandish accusation, Josh said Cathy’s comments couldn’t be further from the truth, inadvertently taking a not so subtle swipe at his estranged ex-wife while defending his pal.
“No way. One of the nicest and most genuine people you could ever meet,” he wrote underneath a photo of himself and Connie after a fan asked whether she was a “bully” when the cameras weren’t rolling.

While she’s kept her nose out of the drama that has ensued since filming wrapped, Cathy revealed last week that the aspiring marine biologist rubbed her and many of their co-stars the wrong way.
“They didn’t showcase all of Connie. They showed her to be this shy, sweet girl when for us girls, she wasn’t really like that.
“She wasn’t shy. She had a mean girl motive,” the logistics investigator told Lisa, Sarah, Dan and Ben on their Hit90.0 breakfast program.
She also alleged the demure and once shy star was non-stop flirting with the other grooms and intentionally stirred the pot.
“She was always with the boys and stuff. And she always wanted to stay away from the girls because they were a threat to her. She’d be right in the middle of the boys and there was obvious flirting,” Cathy said.

Scandals aside, the New Zealand native has been pretty open about her tumultuous time on the dating experiment, revealing yesterday that she’d never go through the emotional pain of trying to fall in love on a reality series again.
“I feel like I have put so much of my heart into this season and watching myself back on screen has been quite hard for me,” she told 9Entertainment.
“Not because of seeing an ex-relationship on screen, but the fact that this person has allowed me to be in such emotional pain that when I watch it back, I’m back to that place of emotional pain then and there when I’m seeing it.”

While she’s vowed to keep future relationships private, the blonde reality star gushed about her new man. The loved up duo made their relationship official a few months ago, with Cathy revealing they started seeing each other post-filming for MAFS.
“Yeah, so my love life… I can just say that I’m happy. I mean am I in a relationship? Am I single? My shoulders are shrugging right now, but I’ve got a smile on my face. I don’t want to get my hopes up. I’m in a happy place, but I don’t want to jinx anything for myself.”
She also told Yahoo Lifestyle she’s moved in with her boyfriend since we were forced to self-isolate.
“Life has been good. I’m staying with my partner, so I’ve been working from his house and it’s been great being in isolation with someone who’s pretty hot.”
