While KC posted a lengthy Instagram post on Saturday revealing details of the split, Michael had kept relatively tight-lipped about the situation until now.

But speaking to Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny on Monday morning, the 28-year-old shared his side of the story.

After calling Michael, host Chrissie Swan told the reality star that she and the team had just been chatting about his fresh break up.

“Isn’t everyone?” Michael responded. “My non-existent relationship now. I’m good, I mean obviously it’s not the best thing to deal with, that’s life.”

In her Instagram post, KC admitted it “hurt” to reveal the news of their split after almost five months together and took a subtle swipe at her former beau, writing that there were “changes” he needed to make in his life.

KC was vague about what changes exactly she was hoping to make and while chatting to Michael, Chrissie was determined to get to the bottom of it and asked him what they were.

“To be honest it has a bit hard dating in isolation, we sort of were in each other’s company the whole time,” Michael replied, side-stepping the question.

“I got straight off MAFS and sort of wanted to sort keep my head down, just work, that’s what I did. I couldn’t make it work.”

Michael was also grilled about whether his penchant for drinking was a factor, as that was something that riled up Stacey Hampton, who he was matched with on MAFS.

But Michael insisted that wasn’t the case.

“I haven’t really been out, lockdown was there, it had nothing to do with that at all,” he said.

“It was just a clash of personalities and both wanting to go in a different direction in our lives. I wish it was that simple. Let’s be honest, this is the best sort of breakup I’ve had. It’s very amicable, we are still good mates, she leaves tonight, we’ve spent a couple of nights together still.”

Michael and KC struck up a romance following MAFS after their relationships with their on-screen partners fell apart.

Originally, Michael was matched with Stacey, while KC was paired with Drew Brauer.
