Married at First Sight’s Michael Brunelli has attempted to surprise his girlfriend, Martha Kalifatidis with a sweet lockdown date night.
The Bondi-based influencers ate a dinner of pasta in their apartment, prepared flawlessly by Michael and captured in a reel on his Instagram.
“Let’s talk quietly because I’m trying to surprise Martha with like a ‘date night’ because she’s been feeling a little bit flat lately,” he explained to the camera.
However, a later shot showed Martha rustling around in the kitchen while Michael cooked, which he captioned “surprise date night” with a big red cross through the surprise.
The final reel saw Michael giving Martha a kiss, pulling out her chair, and serving her the pasta.
Michael then issued a cheeky apology this morning when he noticed a lot of women tagging their partners in the date night post, perhaps offering them some inspiration.
“There’s a lot of women tagging their partners, boyfriends, husbands, in my last post – the lockdown date night – and putting pressure on them, so guys, I’m sorry,” he laughed.
Michael and Martha are a favourite in the Instagram community, often making fans and followers laugh with their content.
He often pokes fun at himself for being Martha’s ‘Instagram boyfriend’, sharing a reel of himself taking photos of her where he referred to it as a ‘full-time job’.
He also filmed himself talking about the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday, with Martha in the background, where he joked that Martha’s side-effect was that she was now ugly, while viewers could hear Martha laughing in the background.
Michael also made waves recently with a photo of himself leaning up against Martha’s backside, writing “Guys that have a problem with stretch marks are s*** in bed.”
“My fave post you have posted ever,” one fan commented.
“I have never liked you more than I do right now. ❤️👏,” another added.
“Say it louder,” another said.
Michael and Martha met on season six of Married at First Sight, where they had a pretty normal, loving relationship that continued into the real world – a rarity for the show.
They’ve now been together for three years, and live in Bondi, where Martha works mostly as an influencer.
Michael, who was a primary school teacher at the time of joining the show, now also works as an influencer, and runs the fitness company TruFit.
