In the end, and despite falling for each other, Married at First Sight’s reality-TV lovers Sean Hollands and Susan Rawlings just couldn’t face reality.

Speaking to WHO in the wake of their shock split on the March 26 episode, when Rawlings told her betrothed that “I have decided I can’t be in a relationship with you,” Queensland farmer Hollands, 35, admits “I sort of knew it was coming. We had done everything we could … to make this work. It was just too difficult.”
The pair continue to stay in contact, and Hollands dismisses the idea that distance was their biggest obstacle (he cannot leave Queensland because of his two children; she is based in Perth). “It’s more so a very different lifestyle,” he says. “Susan travels the world, it’s just very quiet here.”
Still, he admits, “There are still feelings there.” The two still chat and text, but dating “hasn’t even crossed my mind,” says Hollands, who adds that “Susan crossed my path for a reason, whether we were meant to be or not. She definitely has given me hope there is someone out there for me to love.”
