It’s the union fans of Married at First Sight were wishing for: 38-year-old firefighter Andrew (whose “wife,” Lauren, left him on the wedding night) starting a relationship with 25-year-old Cheryl (who discovered her “husband” had been texting another “wife” from the show). But is the pairing too good to be true?
Fellow contestants Anthony and Sharon seemed to think so, expressing their hesitation about the age difference and Cheryl’s motivations for re-entering the experiment at an explosive dinner party that aired on Nine on Feb. 14. But Andrew, for one, is glad, telling WHO their alarm bells made him “curious” and forced him to question his relationship.
“I was confused as to why everyone was so sceptical of the situation. It took a little bit of the shine away from how positive I thought things were going,” says Andrew.
Despite those doubts, the former teacher decided to continue with the experiment because “I had nothing to lose,” but is keeping a lid on his expectations: “I thought, ‘Am I really going to meet someone amazing on a show like this?’
