She’s been applauded for standing up to Anthony for his bully-like behaviour towards Cheryl during an explosive dinner party, but now Married At First Sight star Susan has revealed the experience actually strengthened her relationship with the race-caller.

Speaking in front of the group at the commitment ceremony (which aired Monday, Feb 20) Susan said she was hurt that Anthony and Perth based twins Michelle and Sharon bullied Cheryl, saying “I felt like they judged her. And they didn’t know her.”

But Susan, 37, tells WHO the way Anthony owned up to his aggressive comments (which included telling the 25-year-old salon manager that she would ‘look like a f***ing idiot’ if her new relationship with Andrew didn’t work) made her respect him.

“That’s one amazing thing about Anthony. He does overstep the line a few times and he does hurt people but when he realises it he owns up to it and fully apologies,” she says, adding, “In a weird way, it brought me closer to Anthony.”

However Susan (who actually confessed to WHO that at the time of the dinner party fight she was actually out of the room doing interviews) didn’t have the same to say about the twins. “With Anthony, he’s different to others because he know when he crosses the line and completely means it when he says sorry. Certain other people who might have said something at the dinner party towards Cheryl weren’t like that.”

Regardless, the mining truck driver says she’s glad she spoke out in support of the under-siege Cheryl. “The situation really upset me. Bullying is not okay in the workplace and at school, and it shouldn’t have been okay for Married At First Sight.”
