Michael Goonan has a luxury waterfront property, TWO Rolex watches, and a very nouveau riche pair of sunglasses – but even he can’t keep up with wife Stacey Hampton’s expensive taste.

Michael’s realisation came after visiting Stacey’s suburban home during Married At First Sight’s hometown visit on Monday night.

‘What is this thing?’ Michael quizzed Stacey, studying her special lamp with phone compartment.

‘It’s for selfies,’ she replied. Duh!

‘Oh, Chanel books and Tom Ford books,’ he said. ‘Stacey’s definitely got expensive taste.’

‘It sorta makes me cringe a little bit,’ he admitted, heading to her wardrobe.

‘It’s like Fifth Avenue in a cupboard! We’ve got the pimped out Range Rover with the custom number plates…, the Louis Vuitton expo…, matched with a Valentino collection that would make Marilyn Monroe look frugal,’ he joked. But he really wasn’t joking.

‘I mean, I can’t be with a woman that needs to go shopping every single day. Let’s get real, man. Like, I work hard, but, hey, Stacey wants Hollywood lifestyle, do you know what I mean?’

The following day, Michael and Stacey talked about their new family dynamic. Michael wondered if Stacey was going to put her law degree to use, but according to her, she was going to be a ‘traditional’ housewife.

‘I want a card. I want a credit card,’ she told him.

A credit card?’ he replied, to which she called herself a ‘trophy wife.’
