They’ve endured one of the toughest Married At First Sight Australia journeys so far, but Selina Chhaur and Cody Bromley somehow made it through the experiment and beyond the Final Vows.
They showed up to the Reunion hand-in-hand, but somewhere in the 24 hours between the dinner party and the final catch-up with the experts, the couple split.
WATCH: Cody admits he’s not attracted to Selina on MAFS
After all of the participants watched a dramatic edit of their time on MAFS, Selina and Cody made the reveal.
“I just feel very confused and silly,” Selina told the experts, who were confused by what she meant.
“We – Selina and I decided to call things last night,” Cody revealed to the shocked panel of experts, with Selina adding: “Don’t say we. It’s new to me too.”
When Mel Schilling asked who ended the relationship, Selina said it was his choice and the split had happened when they returned home after the dinner.
“I really wanted this to work but I just thought to myself throughout the experiment, yes we had some really amazing times but we also had some shockers so we never quite lost that habit,” Cody continued.
“Last night it got to the point where Selina was [trying to hold my hand] but to me that felt very forced and it was just a realisation that it’s for the best.
“She needs someone who can show her [affection] and I can’t.”
A tearful Selina revealed she had fallen for Cody and had been planning to move in with him around April – upon his request.
“I just feel silly because I thought this was love or heading towards that direction,” she said. “To me, you don’t ask someone to move in with you if you didn’t feel something deep for them.”

“I don’t know if it’s even the right decision,” Cody said, with Mel telling him that wasn’t fair to Selina. Asking him to answer in “black and white terms” whether or not he sees a future with Selina, Cody said no.
How did we end up here, with the wonderful Selina absolutely crushed and Cody gutted by his decision to end the romance at the worst possible time? Take a look back on their MAFS journey.
Their fairytale wedding may have been the perfect backdrop for Cody and Selina to begin an epic love story, but their special day ended up being a little more awkward than romantic.
While she jokingly suggested getting matching tattoos and more seriously asked about his relationship goals, he tried to dial things back to an appropriate “first date” level. Though, this wasn’t a first date. It was their wedding day.
“Obviously I was extra excited because it was my wedding!” Selina tells WHO. “If I was going on a first date with someone [normal] I would never in a million years ask all of those questions, but yeah we just got married.”
Nevertheless, they persisted through the good and bad. The bad being, of course, the crushing moment Cody admitted he wasn’t feeling a sexual attraction to the beautiful Selina.
“For me, it was such early days, we were still getting to know each other, and I know myself I don’t judge people based on their looks. I know I’ve got so much love to give and so much to bring to the table,” she says.
“So, I was quite confident if Cody gave me the chance and we had more time to spend together, then he would get to know me on the inside and fall in love with my personality. So I was feeling positive and hopeful.”
While Selina was willing to give him a shot, their relationship faced other hurdles. Cody struggled with affection, while Selina found him immature at times, and they generally had a mismatched energy.
But they still made it beyond the Final Vows in November and through to the Reunion in January.

In a chat with her mother ahead of the very last Commitment Ceremony, Selina asked for some honest advice about her perception of the relationship.
“Let me tell you the truth, I’m not really impressed at all,” Selina’s mum said. “I can tell that he is not really into you.
“I can see that, I can feel that. If he had loved you from the start he would show that straight away. He would show how important you are to him. You deserve better, Selina.”
Amen to that.
But, in the end, the couple committed to one another in the Final Vows and it was actually sweet to see Selina do a little happy dance.
“I could tell instantly that a future with you would consist of a lifetime of adventures,” she told Cody. “Throughout this experiment I’ve seen you grow and evolve tremendously, and words cannot describe how proud that makes me feel.
“There have been times when I felt really hurt and let down. I never thought I’d cry and feel so alone,” she added, revealing she never expected to have to question whether or not her husband even cared about her.
Adding that he had shown himself to be loyal and honest, Selina finished off to say: “I stand here and ask that you continue this one-of-a-kind, incredible relationship with me so we can live our best lives together outside of the experiment.”
Making it several weeks beyond that, the couple showed up to the Reunion together.

Has their been any romance since the shock split during the Reunion?
Cody and Selina still follow each other on Instagram, which multiple other couples do not do, and they’ve been liking each other’s social posts. Not only that, Cody also follows Selina’s business on Instagram on her “Rogue & Regal Hair Salon” account.
However, they haven’t had control of their accounts in a fair while now – with the Nine Network running them throughout the series. Meaning it’s harder to judge that as time goes on, and rumours surface that they’ve split.
Unlike Olivia Frazer and Jackson Lonie, or Domenica Calarco and Jack Millar, Selina and Cody have not been spotted out together in the past few months since filming the Reunion.
With zero evidence to support them still being together, the odds that Selina and Cody have made the relationship work, after their shock reunion split, are pretty slim.
In fact, fans are hoping she’s moved on with Al Perkins.

Selina and Al are in a close friendship group outside of the show, being mates with Domenica Calarco, Jack Millar, Ella Ding and Brent Vitiello.
Perhaps there’s a chance they’ll find romance with each other as the fans are hoping – but we’re just keen to know she’s going alright after the rollercoaster experience!
Married At First Sight Australia airs Monday, 7:30pm, on Nine Network and 9Now.
