Cathy Evans has cast a shadow of doubt over Josh Pihlak’s claims the couple parted ways amicably after exiting the Married At First Sight experiment.
WATCH: MAFS’ Cathy Evans says she was never ‘in love’ with Josh Pihlak
In an Instagram video titled ‘MAFS Spilling the Tea’, the makeup artist opened up about their tumultuous and troubled relationship, admitting she cut ties with the truck driver— who is now auctioning off his wedding ring— after he wronged her and refused to apologise.
“Let me tell you this now sis, no! No to everything. The only time we have ever spoken to each other (since the show) was very briefly when I messaged him and said, “just to let you know, I’m in Brisbane for work’,” she said in the juicy Q&A with her followers.

“There was not even an apology for everything that had happened. And I bet to this day he still thinks that he has never been in the wrong. Please can we put it back behind us?”
In the second part of her video, the 26-year-old laid the boot into Josh again, slamming him for leaking inaccurate information about her to the press.
“All these interviews that are coming out after the show, I hear that my ‘ex-husband’ (Josh) is now saying that it didn’t work out because she didn’t want kids.
“This person did not get to know me at all in the time that we were together. Everything that I tried to tell him about me, he didn’t want to hear and wasn’t interested. He even told me that I wasn’t his type.”

Sadly, this isn’t the first time Josh has lied in an attempt to paint Cathy in a negative light. In March, she said Josh was the ‘anonymous source’ who claimed she was not only a paid actress but scored a spot on the show because she was best friends with the MAFS casting producer.
“What is completely absurd about this comment is that it is absolutely untrue. My best friend Megan is not a casting producer for MAFS,” a furious Cathy told AB & Ben from Coffs Coast’s HIT105.5 at the time.
“She has no persuasion on the editing or how they choose the cast members. She was a runner for the show. I was quite shocked that this article was written about us and I knew who had come up with this information… It was my ex-husband. He leaked it.”

Aside from this, the once happy couple— who left the series after the fifth commitment ceremony— are also locked in a feud over her bombshell revelation their co-star Connie Crayden was a “mean girl” behind the scenes.
“They didn’t showcase all of Connie. They showed her to be this shy, sweet girl when for us girls, she wasn’t really like that,” the part-time logistics investigator told Lisa, Sarah, Dan and Ben on their breakfast program. “She wasn’t shy. She had a mean girl motive.
“She was always with the boys and stuff. And she always wanted to stay away from the girls because they were a threat to her. She’d be right in the middle of the boys and there was obvious flirting.”
After he caught wind of her comments, Josh squashed these accusations while taking a not so subtle swipe at Cathy.
“No way. One of the nicest and most genuine people you could ever meet,” he wrote underneath a photo of himself and Connie after a fan asked whether she was a “bully” when the cameras weren’t rolling.
