A war of words ensued between Stacey Hampton and Hayley Vernon last night, as the brides fought over the cheating scandal that wrecked the lawyer’s marriage.

During the uncomfortable Married At First Sight girls’ night, the enemies screamed over the top of each other as they argued about the existence of a video showing Hayley hooking up with Michael Goonan.
As we now know, Vanessa Romito ended up looking like a fool when she backtracked and admitted this incriminating clip doesn’t exist. But, surprisingly, fans of the dating experiment didn’t focus on that blunder, rather turned their attention towards Hayley questioning whether Stacey got her law degree “out of a cereal box” and how she had time to practice with two young children.
Expectedly, dozens of witty viewers turned to Twitter to share their thoughts about the hilarious one-liner, siding with the bodybuilder amid the mounting scandal.
“Hayley saying what we are all thinking with Stacey talking up the law degree thing this whole time,” someone tweeted.
“OMG Hayley coming for Stacey’s ‘Law Degree’…thankyou Queen,” another wrote.
“Laughing my a** off, Hayley asking all the real questions, “Do you even practice law” I’m dead.”
“Is there video evidence of Stacey’s law degree?”
Another user questioned whether her law degree is even legitimate, writing: “So Stacey keeps saying she is a lawyer because she graduated the bar. Her LinkedIn says she has a Grad Dip from College of Law. Did she do the bar exam or does she think the diploma is the same as the bar? Is this a NSW thing because in QLD the bar is a whole extra thing.”
Although we’ve seen Stacey defend her husband time and time again, we now know things don’t work out between the married pair, with Michael confirming last week he has a new girlfriend. And no, it’s not KC Osborne or one of the show’s producers.
“I decided that single wasn’t the way to be. I have met someone I am with now and I would take a bullet for her. She is my world and I am really happy,” Michael told Stav, Abby and Matt in Hit105’s studio.
He continued: “It worked out for me in the end I guess. I am really happy and it’s a good feeling waking up and going, ‘Wow, how did this all work out for me?”
When asked whether they grab the popcorn, sit down and watch Michael cheat on his TV wife, create drama, cause havoc, and scream at his co-stars, he said she obviously prefers to turn a blind eye and change the channel… duh.
“At times it can be very challenging for any girl to watch that. Imagine going over to your boyfriend’s house, a year has gone by and he’s flicking through pictures of him and his ex on holiday in Bali. You’re going to be like, ‘hey, you get them in the recycling bin. You get rid of them or burn them. Yeah, you burn them.’ No one wants to see that!”
