Hayley Vernon has detailed her lengthy and debilitating battle with drug addiction both on and off Married At First Sight.

But despite experiencing the unfathomable at such a young age, the bodybuilder says filming the Channel Nine dating experiment was far tougher than anything she’s endured before— including weaning herself off drugs.
“It was just so mentally and physically draining. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, from start to finish,” Hayley told New Idea, adding she wanted to leave “at a couple of points”.
“It was tougher than getting off drugs. It just exceeds anything else I’ve ever done. Throughout the whole show you guys will definitely see that.”
In saying this, Hayley— who secretly cheats on her husband David Cannon with Michael Goonan— doesn’t regret going on the show and sees it as a much-needed learning curve.
“I’m an optimist so I see a silver lining in every situation,” she revealed. “When I first got off, I wondered if it was really worth it, but I’ve made some of the best girlfriends that I’m going to have forever out of this experience.”
During her chat with the outlet, the controversial brunette refused to mince her words, revealing she and her on-screen enemy Stacey Hampton are set to go head to head very soon!
While we’re not sure when the drama will kick off, Hayley maintains Stacey wrote “stay” at every commitment ceremony due to the fact Michael is a successful businessman and earns a decent income running his family’s business.
“I can’t stand her,” Hayley said viciously. “It wasn’t until she found out Michael had money that she wanted to be with him.
She also claimed the soon-to-be lawyer’s flawless public facade really masked her true colours and that will become evident in the coming weeks.
“I think she tried very hard to have this certain image of herself and I think that house of cards is going to come crumbling down.”
