Like the rest of the nation, Jessika Power has grown tired of tuning in to Married At First Sight, admitting she’s bored of watching producers attempt to recreate all of the drama that occurred organically last year.

Weighing in on last night’s episode, the reality TV sensation also confirmed speculation the series is scripted, claiming the executive producer was feeding the cast lines from the get-go.
“What I am starting to see here is a pattern. All of these ‘bombshells’ that we are all waiting on the edge of our couch to watch haven’t even been caught by the producers or by cameramen,” Jess told New Idea.
“I know that there was a two-week filming break and everybody had to go home because it was basically turning into a big sh*t show. And when the crew came back, they were handed lines by EP Tara who said, ‘this is your storyline’. It has been made up by Tara and the guys at Married At First Sight to put a little bit of spice in there. She handed everybody a script and asked them to go with their storyline.”
Making it known that last year’s showrunners were extremely strict with contracts and curfews, Jess said she finds it bizarre that the 2020 brides and grooms were able to run amuck while the cameras weren’t rolling, leading her to believe the scandals they’ve been focusing on were conjured up by Nine Network.
“We were locked down every night in our rooms by 9 p.m. and were checked on twice before midnight. If there was anybody in your room or you weren’t in there, you would be reprimanded by Tara,” she began.
“So the fact that Michael, Hayley and Vanessa were all in a room together and the kiss happened… or when Michael went out with the boys to the casino and got drunk… I am starting to believe it’s all been fed by the producers and everyone is playing along with it.
“It can be really manipulative in there and you’re controlled. But it doesn’t make sense to me how Tara has no control over the cast this year or she’s had to pull something out because this storyline is absolutely boring.”
This isn’t the first time Jess has blasted the dating series, recently announcing that she’d “prefer to watch the news instead”… A pretty large statement from her.
“We are almost at the end of this season and I don’t know about you guys but thank god,” she told New Idea last week. “I have been snoring the whole time.
“They looked at last year and knew what got the ratings— young people with lots of confidence and a bit of energy. So they thought, let’s just chuck all of those sorts of people into the room and see what happens.”
Jess concluded: Unfortunately, they’re all the same person. In our season, everyone was different and there were different opinions and personalities that made it interesting. We had Cyrell, me, Cam and Jules… That’s how it should have gone.”
