Yesterday, Jessika Power revealed she was too busy working on a secret project to join the upcoming season of Love Island Australia. However, it appears the controversial Married At First Sight star had another reason to turn down the hit dating series— she has a new man!
“I have met someone who makes me laugh so I am also wanting to see where that goes,” the reality TV star told New Idea.
Despite appearing to be very loved up, doting over the mystery man on Instagram, the Instagram influencer says she doesn’t plan on revealing his identity anytime soon.
“Moving forward my love life will remain quite private.”

The news comes less than a month after Jessika revealed she’d split from her boyfriend of two months, fellow MAFS star Nick Furphy. Taking to Instagram, Jess admitted she was the one who decided to call time on their relationship after they were unable to see eye to eye on certain issues.
“I know there’s a lot of speculation going around right now in regards to my relationship status with Nick,” she began. “Regretfully after thinking of what’s best for myself and Nick I decided to ended (sic) our relationship.”
She went on to thank her fans for their support, however, asked they respect her privacy.
“I love you all and I appreciate the concern but this is fresh and private. I’m not ready just yet to discuss or go into detail but thank you all for the kind messages and support.”
Days later, Nick broke his silence sadly admitting that he “probably still would have tried” to make things work, however, Jess had already given up.
“Are Jess and I dating? No,” he said during an Instagram Live video. “[With] all the articles out there and people guessing, I just want to put that to bed. Look, it was a mutual thing, but I probably still would have tried to hang in there a bit. But the distance… and Jess… it wasn’t working.”
Although the seemingly loved up couple regularly flaunted their romance on Instagram, the reality TV star said their love for each other just “fizzled out”.
“Am I upset? A bit disappointed, but its early days. I think it was a mutual thing and we’ll keep going forward.”
When asked whether he’s ready to try his hand at love again, Nick suggested that he’s already speaking to other girls, however, is in no rush to jump into another relationship.
“There are plenty more birds out there but there’s no rush. I’m just going to live my life and take it easy,” he concluded.
Fans were not shocked to hear the couple had broken up. Days before announcing the news, they were caught in a public spat after enjoying what was meant to be a romantic vacation in Bali. According to onlookers, Jessika was screaming and swearing at Nick during a heated argument at Ngurah Rai International Airport.
“We heard some arguing and screaming near one of the lounges and as it got louder my friend and I walked over to have a look,” the onlooker told the Daily Mail. “We couldn’t believe it when we recognised it was her from Married At First Sight. Quite a few people were looking. She seemed really upset.”
“She was so emotional and then they left on different flights back to Australia.”
After suffering an ill-fated MAFS marriage to Queensland farmer Mick Gould, later propositioning Nic Jovanovic and then dating Dan Webb, Jess and Nick went public with their relationship in early July.
Although they claimed their romance was the real deal, after dozens of weak attempts to try and convince us they were in love, Nick’s former MAFS co-star Telv Williams revealed their relationship was, in fact, a publicity stunt.
“I think it’s a publicity stunt… straight out,” the reality star said.
As expected, Jessika hit back, refuting Telv’s claims.
“I am sick of defending myself over Telv and his lies. I really wish he would just leave me alone and let me live my life. I’m very happy with Nick, he’s a great person and someone I can see myself settling for. His “friends” should be happy for him.”
