Married At First Sight’s Jules and Cam’s real life wedding televised on A Current Affair Tuesday night had the exact reaction everyone expected: Jessika Power throwing her two cents in.
WATCH: Mick Gould’s shocking response to Cam and Jules’ televised wedding
Echoing dumped bridesmaids Melissa Lucarelli thoughts on the whole televised wedding, Jessika alluded that the whole thing has been for publicity.
Posting to her favourite social media platform, the former reality star wrote: “Wish mafs and a current affair paid me 75k to act like a complete twat on tv also. I want my compensation.”
Jessika, who has clearly had issues with Jules and Cam since their stint on MAFS, wasn’t invited to the real wedding… and neither was her former ‘husband’ Mick Gould. The pair decided to have a viewing party together instead.
Mick, the 32-year-old farmer who couldn’t stand Jessika by the end of their ‘marriage’ on the show, was just as vocal about the wedding that has been labelled as a “sickening” advertisement.
Directing his distaste to the couple on the TV, he told them to “f**k off” as he turned it off.
“Aw f**k it who gives a bloody … f**k off,” he said.
It’s not the first time Jessika has taken a swipe at Cam and Jules recently. The blonde took to her Instagram Story last month to take Mel’s side in the bridesmaid wars.
During an Instagram Q&A, she claimed that Jules is “milking” the drama with Mel to turn it into a profit.
“I think Mel is such a bubbly girl. She’s not about the drama. She’s so open, honest and genuine,” Jessika stated. “So to see her dropped as a bridesmaid… I wasn’t that shocked. I stand by what I said and a lot of what Jules does is calculative. I think she has learnt how to milk what is happening.”
She continued, sarcastically: “I mean, good on you and all power to you if you can get things out of this opportunity. But to see somebody like Mel hurt and be shout out and neglected… it’s just sh*t.”
Prior to the wedding which actually took place on the weekend (Sunday, 17 November), Mel discussed her side of the story on social media, which she claims Jules dumped her from the bridal party via text message.
She continued: “I’ve had so many messages and people keep asking me what the story is. So yes, it is true, Jules dumped me as a bridesmaid. As for why, I’m honestly not sure… she kept changing her reasons and none of them made sense.
It really all just came out of the blue and I didn’t see it coming at all. Of course, you’re allowed to change your mind about who you want as a bridesmaid, but I just feel like the way it was done was really cold and rather hurtful.”
Mel admitted that finding out the wedding would be televised made the dumping so much more hurtful.
“I guess it just makes the public dumping of you as a bridesmaid for no reason that little bit more embarrassing, hurtful, confusing,” she said. “I wish I was never asked to be a bridesmaid in the first place so I wasn’t in this position.”
Fellow MAFS bride Tamara Joy also took Melissa’s side leading up to the wedding.
“I just want to give Mel my full support here and I just think she was used as a pawn in Jules’ game and I really just want to expose that because that’s exactly how I see it,” Tamara told her followers on Instagram.
“I think Mel was very graceful in the way that she’s approached the rumours and the way that she’s addressing the fact she did get dumped and she’s not in the wedding.
“But I don’t think I would have been quite as graceful because I talk to her on a daily basis and I know how upset she is, not about the dumping of being a bridesmaid but about the friendship that Jules has severed.”
She was also pretty adamant that it was a publicity stunt.
“She was asked as a bridesmaid on national television but ten dump Mel because it’d go viral and create more media attention for their real-life wedding,” she said. “Mel is a human being and she has feelings and Jules has just thrown those feelings aside because it’s all about her and I think that’s a really sh***y thing for a friend to do.”
During the A Current Affair segment, Jules was asked directly about the fallout, addressing it for the final time.
“In response to that question, all that matters is my nearest and dearest are here right now. Heidi [Latcham] is here. She is my bridesmaid. I love that woman.”
Ouch.
