Jessika Power is infamous for her controversial carryon, so it comes as no surprise the reality TV star has grown a thick skin since appearing on Married At First Sight.

Last night, after posting a photo which showed off her plump pout and slender physique, Jess proved she’s no longer perturbed by people’s nasty comments, politely telling an online troll to think before they speak or keep their opinions to themselves.
“That bottom lip looks like it was stung by a bee. Not a good look,” a nasty user commented on underneath her photo.
Rather than flying off the handle, she casually replied, “That’s your opinion… cool. I won’t judge that just like you shouldn’t judge my lips haha double standards. I also don’t care for negative opinions so I don’t know why people waste their time.
Naturally, many of her loyal fans rushed to her defence, with one writing: “Let people be happy with what they do, focus on your own insecurities. Surely you aren’t the one perfect person in this world.”
Another chimed in saying: “She isn’t trying to impress you. She’s doing it for herself so let her and leave her alone.”
Her mature stance comes two weeks after Jess was embroiled in yet another juicy scandal in which her ex-boyfriend Nick Furphy after he seemingly proved she ‘cheated’ on him in August. Taking to Instagram to share the video with 59, 000 of his followers, the former Married At First Sight contestant launched a blistering attack on his ex of two months, slamming Jess for kissing a random guy on a boozy night out before ignoring his calls for almost 15 hours straight.
“I’m never one to cause drama or throw someone under the bus but when it comes to cheating I have zero tolerance,” Nick captioned the shocking video which someone anonymously sent him. “This happened on the 24th of Aug. Someone Dm this to me early this morning. Not happy. The day before my birthday I was in Bali at Mrs Sippy with Jess and Tamara and some other friends. 7.30 that night the girls left for what was meant to be 20 minutes. I didn’t see Jess until 9 the next morning. I couldn’t even contact her. Not really the best way to spend your birthday morning.”
The irate reality star went on to admit he confronted Jessika about the situation days after he caught wind of the rumours, however, she was adamant the accusations were false.
“Now someone did say it was this guy months ago. I did confront Jess and she cracked it. So I just gave her the benefit of the doubt. It’s all out now. I’ve been amicable till now. Hope you learn something from this. And yes I should have known better.”
After the drama made headlines, Jess chatted to WHO over the phone, claiming the video was actually taken in 2018 before she appeared on MAFS and while she was vacationing in Bali with Joely Martin— a close friend of her brother’s who she fleetingly dated.
“I am so pissed off,” Jess began. “I have known Joely for years and my brother used to live with him. My brother and I went to Bali in June last year, even before the show, and that’s what that video is from. He uploaded it on his Instagram last night as a joke and he’s since messaged me saying ‘I’m so f***ing sorry you didn’t deserve that. I am so so sorry, I can’t even remember posting that. I thought it was funny at the time and never meant anything by it.’ He posted it as a joke.”
According to Jess, Nick assumed the video was taken in August 2019 while they were travelling in Indonesia with her brother Rhyce Power and her former MAFS co-star, Tamara Joy.
“Joel and I were liking each other’s pictures on Instagram after we broke up, he assumed in his head that’s where I must have been— with Joel,” she said before explaining she and Nick caught up with Joely and his new girlfriend during their overseas
“Why would I cheat on my boyfriend while I was in Bali? Regardless of being on the rocks and basically broken up, why would I do that?”
On the flip side, Nick told New Idea that he knew the video was taken this year seeing as the song playing in the background (Y2K, bbno$ – La La La) was released a few months ago.
“That song is from 2019,” he said, referring to the track Jessika and Joely were singing to before they smooched on the back of a motorbike. “Her teeth had been done and she was wearing the same clothes she wore the same f***ing day. That guy didn’t even have a tattoo on his cheek in 2018. Come on now. All the evidence is there. It’s the way she’s been brought up, she’s a compulsive liar and she hasn’t learnt how to be honest with herself and those around her.”
While some fans of the former couple believed Nick’s Instagram post was unnecessary— with one arguing he and Jessika should’ve dealt with the matter privately— he says he doesn’t regret exposing her on a public platform.
“I have been amicable with her the whole time and we’ve been on good terms but when I saw that, it was a bit of a kick in the guts. She did f***ing lie to me. I had to pull her up and I thought she could probably learn from this. It was 3 am in the morning when I saw it and I couldn’t get back to sleep for two hours.
He continued: “I don’t hate her, just a bit disappointed. I am not a bully and someone needs to take a stand and say this is wrong, what you’re doing. Bad behaviour needs to be pulled up.”
