As Luke Eglin continues to remain uncharacteristically coy about why his marriage to Poppy Jennings deteriorated so rapidly, those closest to the reality TV bride haven’t stopped discussing the drama that’s come after her unexpected Married At First Sight exit.

This morning, the photographer’s best friend Susie appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show where she shockingly revealed they’ve been forced to call in the lawyers, as worrying details about her vicious feud with Luke continue to surface.
“[Poppy] needs to have an understanding of what she can and can’t say,” Susie explained, adding the mum-of-two also sought legal support because she’s been barred by MAFS producers from saying her piece.
“It’s all about the show, no one is really caring about how she is feeling. Something happened to her that made her feel uncomfortable, and everybody has just brushed it off like it’s not important.
“She definitely told producers, and they just said, ‘Poppy, you can’t come forward with this as it’s way too controversial for the show.'”
According to Susie, there were multiple reasons why she decided to leave the experiment, the main one being this frightful incident she so desperately wants to reveal, however, is contractually obliged not to.
“They’ve made her out like she’s left him for no reason, and she just doesn’t like him and misses her kids. This is not correct at all.”
Since Poppy’s jawdropping comments came to light, the former MAFS contestant has been struggling immensely, with Susie claiming the backlash that’s come with the scandal has taken a serious toll on her mental health.
“She’s not well, I’ll tell you that. She has not been well since she left the show. She tells me she can’t sleep and is having night tremors. I tell her not to stress about it and that everything will be okay. She’s so upset about how everything went down and that she can’t be herself. It has affected her.”
Earlier in the show, Jackie and Kyle chatted to Poppy’s co-star Connie Crayden, who shied away from spilling on the intense drama.
“Alright, yeah… it’s a touchy one, this one. I don’t, I just don’t feel comfortable, really, giving too much of my opinion on this matter because… I guess, you know, it is big and it’s something that Poppy and Luke need to deal with themselves,” Connie said.
When asked just how serious the incident was, Connie said: “Inappropriate is one word to use [to describe what happened], definitely. It’s just, yeah… just, it’s heavy.”
After accusing Luke of doing something so horrible, even the show’s producers prevented her from revealing the “petrifying” incident, he broke his silence on the matter this morning.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about Poppy’s lengthy Facebook post, the dad-of-two simply stated: “I am not going to make any comments because, honestly, the best way to react is not to react.”
“To be honest, Poppy is a good person and the best of luck to her. I am not going to comment on anything because it is not worth it, it really isn’t.”
The FIFO worker concluded: “Honestly, she just needs to move on like I have and that is it. We are finished on the show and that is as far as it goes.”
Luke echoed a similar sentiment in an interview with the Geelong Advertiser, saying, “The best response is not to respond. There’s nothing I want to comment on because there’s no point [in] making extra accusations.
In conjunction, Channel Nine and Endemol Shine also released an official statement to News.com.au, revealing the Network’s representatives have been in contact with Poppy.
“We have seen Poppy’s post and note her distress,” the statement read. “We have reached out to her to offer support and won’t be making any further public comment and will focus on doing our best to support both Poppy and Luke.”
Yesterday, Poppy not only exposed Luke’s true colours but accused the network of covering up what happened, saying her portrayal would be altered if she revealed the truth about her walkout.
“I was so scared I was saying sh*t like, ‘this could work’ because they [producers] told me Australia was going to f***ing hate me. F**k, I’d probably hate me too! From what I heard that’s all they play of me!”
“I was uncomfortable with all the things about this person I was matched with that didn’t add up. But I was told, ‘Poppy, on camera and off camera doesn’t exist to the public,'” she said.
