That’s it, Australia—we’ve made it through yet another season of Married At First Sight. Not without some serious drama along the way, of course, mainly thanks to Bryce and Melissa, who have been a couple riddled with controversy this season.
The social experiment also brought with it this season yet another wine throwing incident, rumours of a “secret girlfriend” and it wouldn’t be MAFS without the final plot: a cheating scandal.
We’ve seen three couples already profess their love at the final vows but we’ve got So Dramatic! to thank for tracking down exactly which couples choose to commit and leave the experiment together, and which ones ultimately, decide to part ways for good.
Below, see which MAFS couples are still together and which ones called it quits.
Belinda Vickers and Patrick Dwyer
Having kept their relationship fairly steady over the course of the experiment, Belinda and Patrick reportedly decide to stay together.
The couple have even been spotted out and about together since the series stopped filming, with The Wash receiving a message from a fan who saw them “looking loved up” in Melbourne.
“Not sure if this is actually news or not, but Patrick and Belinda (MAFS) still together,” the source said. “They were out on Brunswick street tonight looking loved up and talking to fans.”
Jake Edwards and Beck Zemek
In news that fans might find surprising, Jake and Beck decided to give things a go outside of the experiment—perhaps, all that fighting with Bryce brought the couple together?
They are showing Jake and Beck not getting along very well but by the final vows they were all good and going well,” one contestant told So Dramatic! host Megan Pustetto.
“They both write stay at the final vows but Beck made it clear that she wanted to start again and start from scratch and get to know the real Jake… He keeps saying that he’s not the a**hole, narcissistic person that he’s been in the experiment.”
Georgia Fairweather and Liam Cooper
Another alleged couple involved in a twist at the final vows is Georgia and Liam, with the TV groom apparently writing stay like Georgia but then choosing to leave after hearing how “rude” she was in the vows.
“She was basically bagging him out saying that her friends wouldn’t like him, and he doesn’t know how to love. She pointed out all of these negative things,” a close friend of Georgia’s told So Dramatic! “She was basically saying to Liam no one loves you and you don’t know how to love me.”
The friend goes on to say she was “shocked” by her vows that he had an instant change of heart.
“Liam says ‘no thanks, based on what you just said you do not know me at all’,” he apparently tells her.
So, looks like we’ve reached the end of the road for this MAFS pairing.
Johnny Balbuziente and Kerry Knight
Arguably one of this season’s strongest couples, it’s unsurprising that Johnny and Kerry chose to stay together.
In a sweet declaration of love, Johnny confessed that he’d never met someone like Kerry and that he’s falling in love with her.
“Johnny you have my heart, I’m absolutely falling in love with you,” Kerry proclaimed right back.
According to So Dramatic! the pair are still together.
Alana Lister and Jason Engler
Given the last several weeks of their relationship, Alana and Jason could have easily swayed in either direction and though the pair decided to stay together, they’re reportedly involved in a “shocking twist.”
So Dramatic! found out that Alana had planned to write leave at the final vows, but decided to change her mind right then and there.
“Alana actually wrote leave at the final vows. She then heard Jason’s final vows and felt guilty so she changed her mind on the spot,” Pustetto says.
Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson
The couple that’s had the most ups and downs this season is hands down Melissa and Bryce who ultimately decided to keep going with their relationship in the real world.
During the final vows, Bryce said that he and Melissa had faced more challenges than anyone that had come before them.
“Rumours and accusations have riddled our story, others have stepped in and tried to become involved in our relationship and I’ve turned into someone I wasn’t proud of,” he explained.
“Seeing how some of my words and actions throughout the experiment have affected you have really made me question if this relationship could properly function outside the experiment. I do wonder if potentially we aren’t as compatible as we think.”
Bryce went on to say that despite the dramas, Melissa makes him a better person and that he can’t see a future without her in his life.
Melissa meanwhile admitted that despite the constant rumours and conflicts she had never felt this way about anyone in her heart.
“I have grown as a person because of you, I cannot imagine my life without you and I can absolutely say with certainty that I am in love with you,” she professed.
“I believe with every fibre of my being that you and our relationship are truly worth fighting for.”
