I felt outrageously uncomfortable watching Seb Guilhaus try and impress his wife Elizabeth Sobinoff’s surly mother, Gillian.

It was tough to see her tear into the “immature” personal trainer— who was stress sweating the entire time— and suggest his earnings weren’t enough to support the returning Married At First Sight bride’s seemingly lavish lifestyle.
According to mum Gillian, it’s Sebastian’s duty to have a “reasonable income to sustain the life she’s become accustomed to.” And if he can’t provide for the retail assistant, he’s essentially worth nothing in her eyes.

Obviously, it was even harder to watch her say that the quirky intruder lacked ambition, drive and should definitely have a “saving goal” or an investment property at this point in his life.
Thankfully, I wasn’t alone in feeling like the roast was uncalled for and definitely unexpected, with multiple angry viewers taking to Twitter to slam her family for their nasty treatment.
“Lizzie’s mum would like Seb to have an investment property? Lizzie’s mum needs to know there is more to life than money,” one fan of the unconventional dating experiment wrote.
“Lizzie, dude, control your mum and stop shaming Seb.”

Another pointed out that perhaps Elizabeth’s family should focus on motivating their daughter to achieve the income she desires on her own.
“Here’s a random idea: if Lizzie is accustomed to a certain lifestyle then maybe she should get a job that supports that lifestyle.”
A different person added: “So basically what I’m hearing if she doesn’t pay her own way now is that she wants to go from mooching off of her parents to mooching off a guy. It’s very 1950’s.”
“Lizzie is concerned about Seb’s career plans. WTF? From the woman whose plan is to repeat marriage reality shows until some sucker bites!”
“Lucky Lizzie didn’t end up with Sam Ball then. I read that he was spotted working at Liquor Land recently. What would his mother say to that?”
Aside from the very awkward lunch which seemed to drag on for hours, Lizzie is far more focused on apologising for her actions during the girls’ night. Although the episode is yet to air, we know she and Hayley Vernon go head to head, with the messy feud eventually leading to a glass being broken.
Getting in early and clearing her name, she discussed the scary war that went down during that frightful evening, with the MAFS alum saying she’s deeply embarrassed by her actions.
“I’m appalled at my behaviour,” the stunning brunette told TV Week.

Admitting she saw red when she discovered the bodybuilder had cheated on her TV husband with Michael Goonan, Lizzie was extremely triggered given her past experience with Sam Ball.
“I’d formed a close bond with Stacey and had heard about the cheating,” Lizzie revealed.
“I was very protective of Stacey. Hayley was pummelling Stacey as a person. You could see Stacey was hurting. I’m there going, ‘Hang on – aren’t you the one who, while this woman was at home with her kids, decided to hook up with her partner?'”

“I am not proud of my actions. I was pushed to my limits.”
After launching herself at Hayley during the brutal altercation, the 28-year-old was so enraged she fled and told MAFS showrunners she couldn’t be in the same room as this year’s most controversial bride.
