When Jessika Power and Ines Basic signed up to Married at First Sight, my guess is they were hoping to reap the benefits of being an Australian celebrity. One of these benefits is, of course, an invitation to the Gold Logies. However, after their controversial behaviour on the experimental series, they’ve been blacklisted from the night of nights… and they’re not taking the Logies snub well.

According to news.com.au, the MAFS stars were reportedly “reeling” when they discovered they didn’t score an invite to the awards show but their former BFF Martha Kalifatidis did. The source, who refused to be named, said the unlikely friends and co-stars— whose antics cause quite the stir this season— believed they “deserved” to go seeing as their dramatic behaviour on the Channel 9 series raked in the views (the final episode drew in an eye-watering 2.66 million viewers).
While no doubt one of the most famous cast members to come out of this, Cyrell Paule has been excluded from the event due to fears that there’d be a repeat of that very wild red wine incident. As expected, the fierce Filipino bride is reportedly “furious” that she and her boyfriend Love Island’s Eden Dally won’t be walking the red carpet, claiming the snub is “unfair”.
In fact, the only Australian MAFS stars who are attending the ceremony are beloved couple Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant, along with Martha and Michael Brunelli. According to the source, Heidi Latcham, Nic Jovanovic, Elizabeth Sobinoff and Mike Gunner were invited however have chosen not to attend. At this point in time, we’re unsure if Sam Ball and Dan Webb were on the list.
“I couldn’t give a rat’s a** to be completely honest,” said Jessika Power’s Gympie farmer ‘husband’ Mick Gould about the Logies invite. “I wasn’t a suck-up throughout the series, so that’s probably why, but I’m more than happy to not be a part of it all.”
The news comes months after the Daily Mail Australia reported that some of the contestants were begging Channel Nine publicists for an invite to the Logie Awards.
“No one knows what’s going on and half of them are scared they won’t get invited despite being on the biggest show in Australia,” the source said at the time. “Some of them are worried they’ll be snubbed for being “too controversial” and “a liability”, which is ridiculous because producers encouraged this sort of behaviour during filming.”
While the snub may have come as a shock to Jess and Ines, only a handful of people from last year’s cast members were invited to attend.
