With a filming schedule that fell victim to COVID-19 delays, it’s been a long wait for the fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. However, our wait is finally over, with new episodes dropping as of February 18th.
WATCH: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 | Official Trailer
Season 3 finished on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Midge Maisel’s (Rachel Brosnahan) European tour cancelled after she came too close to outing her friend, singer Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain), during a gig at The Apollo Theatre.
Not even her beloved, cranky manager Susie (Alex Borstein) could right Midge’s wrong, leaving her shocked and horrified at her own actions on an airport runway.
That fateful episode aired on December 6, 2019, meaning we’ve been sitting tight for two whole years waiting to see what comes next. And we’re finally going to find out, when the series returns on Amazon Prime. If you’re not already signed up, you’re going to want to click here for a 30-day free trial.
In the meantime, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about The Marvelous Mrs Maisel right here.

What is The Marvelous Mrs Maisel?
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is a drama-comedy series created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who is best known otherwise for creating the iconic 2000s series Gilmore Girls. It’s won a heap of awards including Emmys and Golden Globes for its stars Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, and Tony Shalhoub.
The show follows Midge Maisel, a 1950s Jewish housewife who becomes a comedian in the wake of her marriage breaking down. With the help of her sometimes tempestuous manager, Susie, she quickly grows a comedy career in her native New York, delivering mostly observational comedy about her wacky life.
Fast-paced and bitingly witty, the show has the quick-talking, reference-heavy nature of Gilmore Girls with the added intrigue of a period drama – showing us life in Manhattan during the late 1950s.

What can we expect to see in Season 4?
With her gaffe surrounding Shy Baldwin behind her, it’s time for Midge to rebuild as a comedian.
The brand-new trailers show her discussing what’s next with Susie, where Midge claims she doesn’t want to open for people anymore, and do her own gigs instead. It’s also looking like Midge will be returning home to live with her parents once more, while Susie officially opens her management business.
Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is also well-known for throwing a familiar face into the series, bringing us Liza Weil last season, who played Paris in Gilmore Girls. This season, Gilmore Girls alums Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano) and Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) will be joining the cast – and we could not be more excited to see them.
“It’s got to be the right part, it can’t be just a cameo,” Amy Sherman-Palladino told Variety of Milo Ventimiglia’s appearance.
“And it’s also got to be a time when he can shave and cut his hair into a 1950s-period look. But the reuniting will definitely happen.”

As for the rest of the existing cast …
All of our favourites will be returning – Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle will reprise their roles as Midge’s parents, while Midge’s ex-husband, Joe (Michael Zegen) will also be coming back. By the look of the trailers, it seems he’s hoping to introduce his new girlfriend, Mei (Stephanie Hsu), to his parents, Moishe (Kevin Pollak) and Shirley (Caroline Aaron).
Midge’s close friend and mentor Lenny Bruce will also be reprised by Luke Kirby. Her rival, Sophie Lennon, also looks like she’ll be brought back again by actress Jane Lynch.
