MasterChef fans are very excited to see Jess Lemon (real name Jess Liementara) back on their screens after it was announced she would be taking part in a Beat the MasterChef challenge.
Lemon first graced the MasterChef kitchen in 2018, returning in 2020 for the high-stakes Back to Win season before tackling Dessert Masters in 2023.
One fan responded to the news of her return on Reddit, writing, “Oooo Jess! That’s a perfect choice for [Beat the MasterChef] – she will give them a literal run for their money.
“Anyone remember Jess sprinting back and forth through the kitchen in S12?”
Another added, “I was planning on skipping sweet week. Now that I know Jess is going to be on I will tune in for her.”
“Oh, Jess is back!” wrote a third. “She’s so freaking talented when it comes to desserts! She might even help out the contestant, even though they would be going against her.”
Jess Lemon teases her MasterChef return
Speaking to WHO about her highly anticipated return to the show, Lemon shared what fans should expect from her Beat the MasterChef challenge.
“Fans should see how much I’ve grown as a pastry chef and how resilient I’ve been since my last moments on the show,” she told us.
“My quirky running around the kitchen and manic energy is still there. Most of all expect a lot of speed talking and running.”
She also spoke about how much life has changed since she was last on the show, saying, “Before the show, I was a waitress at several restaurants, and after the show, I had the opportunity to work under amazing chefs, work overseas, run pop-up launches, travel and run workshops interstate.”
The star chef has also opened her own bakery, saying, “It’s been an incredible journey and I wouldn’t change a thing at all.”
“Never have I ever thought my dream I once made at the age of 9 has now become a reality,” she added. “A passion for baking, a love for all things pastry, has now become my everyday business.
“I am thankful to be loved by many and to have the opportunity to take a leap of faith into opening up my own place. I owe it all to MasterChef for the experience that changed my life.”
