Last night, MasterChef judges George Calombaris, Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan announced that they would not be returning as judges on the Channel Ten cooking show, leaving audiences in shock.

The Daily Telegraph said that Matt, George and Gary were expecting a 40 per cent pay rise as well as a stake in international profits.
According to the publication, the MasterChef trio is in talks with Netflix and Amazon Prime to secure a multi-million dollar deal after recently opening their own production company, “GGM Pty Ltd.”
The reality show chefs initially tried to sell their idea to Ten, taking a “package deal” approach.
Paul Anderson, Channel 10’s chief executive, stated that this only complicated negotiations.
The Ten boss went on to refute claims that the network intended to sack Calombaris, after the recent controversy surrounding the chef underpaying his staff.
Despite claims that the negotiations fell through due to a monetary dispute, the MasterChef judges insist it was more about having “free time to explore our own creativity.”
On Tuesday night, Gary said “Working together will continue to be the most important thing for us … the three musketeers.”
