Matty J and Laura Byrne have once again proved themselves to be Australia’s favourite Bachelor couple, sharing sweet words with each other on their podcast amid worry that their wedding might be postponed.
The pair, who are currently doing a Bachelor recap series on the podcast Laura usually shared with Brittany Hockley, Life Uncut, began their latest episode with a discussion about whether they were actually soulmates.
Matt had picked a series of questions from an online questionnaire to quiz Laura with, ensuring that she really is his soulmate before they head down the aisle later this year.
“I would assume that we’re soulmates,” Matt mused.
“We’re very much in love, we have two children, we’re looking at buying a house, but we’re not married,” he explained.
“We’re definitely not married Laura, so there is definitely time to pull the pin on this relationship if we’re not, in fact, soulmates.”
“So, if you’re going to ask me five questions, and we don’t match up on these, what happens? Is it over?” Laura asked.
“I think it’s safe to say that we’ll have to cancel the wedding … our deposit is non-refundable, which is concerning, but there’s still time to pull out,” Matt told her.
The pair then revealed that their wedding might be postponed anyway, given the current restrictions in NSW due to Covid-19.
“Well it’s a good thing that Covid is making it look like we’re going to have to postpone it anyway,” Laura joked.
The two then launched into a series of questions about each other’s likes and dislikes, with a few sexual jokes thrown in for good measure.
“You make me happy,” Laura said when addressing the question ‘what makes your partner happy?’
“It’s true though, you make me very happy. One thing that I love about our relationship … I love how much fun we have together, which makes lockdown extra special,” she admitted.
The two have seemed to be having their fair share of fun in lockdown, sharing videos and photos of their efforts to care for their two baby girls in an intense Sydney lockdown.

“What makes you happy is when I do the cleaning,” Matt joked in return.
In the end, Matt claimed their soulmate status was ‘undecided’, but Laura didn’t agree.
“Yes,” she answered the question, “because I won you on national TV.”
