Following confirmation the latest season of Married At First Sight is set to air in the United States on May 27, the controversial groom weighed in on the announcement revealing he’s happy his 15 minutes of fame will be extended further.

“I showed KC and she was like, ‘What? No way! That’s quite a big channel in the U.S. So I messaged the producer of the show with a link to the article about it and she wrote back, ‘Yep, 100 per cent true. Goony you’re going global,'” the party boy businessman told Hit105’s Stav, Abby and Matt.

“I was just like, ‘Wow, alright.’ This was the first I’d heard about it.”

While he has no qualms about being thrust back into the spotlight, the dad-of-one is unhappy they’re unable to demand more money for U.S. rights to the show.

“I think we sort of signed our life away in the contract, so it’s their show and they can sell it to whoever they want,” he revealed.

During his chat with the radio hosts, MAFS bride and Michaele’s girlfriend, KC Osborne, also joined and reacted to the unexpected announcement, hinting the exposure could help advance her career as a professional actor.

“I love it, honestly. I used to watch the Lifetime Channel quite a bit because I’m a fan of Dance Moms and that’s a really big show over there. I don’t really care that we’re not getting paid for it being shown.

“I just think it’s great for the both of us. I’m so excited for my friends and everyone to see it over there. It could just open up more doors and I think Americans will really like it.”

News that all 36 episodes will be shown overseas will also please law graduate Stacey seeing as she recently signed with a major modelling agency.

The blonde bride— who was embroiled in numerous scandals while filming the series— confirmed earlier this week that she’s now being represented by Neon Model Management— an agency that promotes Instagram influencers and looks after international TV stars from shows like Love Island and Vanderpump Rules.

Despite her budding career as an “influencer”,  the single mother-of-two hopes to use her platform to make a difference, recently confirming she’s starting her own not-for-profit charity.

“I’ve got a lot of good friends [around me] and I’m focusing on my children, my career and what I want to do next. I want to do something good out of all of this and start a charity,” she said, adding it’ll raise money and awareness for those battling with mental health issues.

Hoping to educate her growing fan base, Stacey continued: “I want to do something with my platform. I don’t want to just sell teeth whitening stuff. Melbourne is where I’m setting up my not-for-profit, that’s why I’m regularly there. I think Melbourne has a lot more to offer [than Adelaide].”

The sudden change follows the 26-year-old’s announcement she’s put her legal career on hold until her sons are older and she can work full time.
