The Hollywood star, 50— who dated Pearl Harbor actress Kate Beckinsale, 45, from 1995 to 2003— announced the exciting news on Twitter.
“Very happy to let everyone know that my partner Anna and I are expecting a little angel of our own. (Just to be clear — we’re having a baby!) #nottheantichrist,” he wrote, adding multiple emojis including one of the Swedish flag.
While most of the world is familiar with Sheen, having starred in a number of blockbuster hits, Anna prefers to keep her life private. According to People, the 25-year-old actress from Sweden— who currently resides in New York City—has a number of theatre credits, including Othello, Spring Awakening and Gloria.
The couple’s baby will be the second child for The Good Fight star, who also shares a 20-year-old daughter with Beckinsale.
Beckinsale famously dated Ariana Grande’s ex-fiance Pete Davidson for six odd months before the couple announced they had broken up.
According to Page Six, the demise of their fleeting relationship was not due to the considerable amount of flak they received for their 20-year age gap rather, Beckinsale reportedly had an issue with Davidson’s very public lifestyle and his penchant for concerning Instagram posts.
“Even though Kate has been in Hollywood for a long time, she struggled with the attention on her relationship with Pete. He lives his life with his heart on his sleeve,” a source close to the couple told the outlet.
During the course of their brief romance, which sources labelled as “casual”, the couple— who were pictured holding hands and kissing on multiple occasions—was heavily scrutinised. While they kept quiet initially, after receiving hate on social media to the point where she was forced to delete her Instagram account, Beckinsale, 45, spoke out.
“I’m surprised by the interest. I’ve never been in this position before — never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief,” The Window actress told the Los Angeles Times, explaining that at one point in time, the backlash on social media was so intense she deleted all of her Instagram posts. “I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it’s not.”
On a “Weekend Update” segment of Saturday Night Live the comedian, 25, also said he wasn’t put off by all of the drama surrounding their budding romance.
“Apparently people have a crazy fascination with our age difference, but it doesn’t really bother us.”
Despite splitting, a source told E! News that the pair “still talk and are very friendly.”
“When they are apart they talk a lot and never run out of things to say. He always has her laughing and that’s a good feeling to have.”
