Rumours of cheating between the reality TV couple had been bubbling away for a few weeks since the pair announced their split in February.
Tina confirmed to Abbie that Mitch had not cheated, but rather moved on very quickly with fellow Love Island co-star Emily Ward.
Emily, Mitch, and Tina had been in a love triangle on the show, with Mitch torn between the two girls after Emily’s entrance a few days into the show.
“I found out that about five days after we had broken up, before we’d publicly announced it, that a certain couple of people had hooked up with each other,” Tina revealed.
“So, it was Emily and Mitch,” Abbie cut in.
“I feel like there’s no right or wrong in this situation, given we weren’t together,” Tina said.
“You are free to hook up, date, move on in whatever way you see and feel fit, but I think there’s also a way to go about things and a way to give people respect, particularly when we hadn’t announced it publicly and had agreed it was going to be kept in private…
“I also feel … I’m only human, it’s never nice to see your ex move on with someone else.”
Their split was followed by a trip to the Gold Coast, where Tina was told about the hook up from Emily herself, leaving her devastated.
“I’m not going to lie, there were some … profanities used in the club, I did run onto the street and have a moment.
“It was like the scream-cry … it was very nasty.
“It’s always hard to watch your ex move on with someone else, but to move on with the person that validates a lot of feelings you had questioning in the early days … that’s the part where I’m like ‘you knew that would hurt me’.”
“I didn’t exactly get the truth from the horse’s mouth straight away, it took a little bit of coercing,” Tina said of following chats with Mitch.
“I was like, ‘so you did this’, and he said ‘when?’,” she recalled.
“I think there was fear in the eyes,” she said with a laugh.
“I’m very aggressive, I think I walked around the room throwing things. She was a dramatic queen that day.”
Despite this, Tina confirmed that she and Mitch are still in contact and are navigating a friendship together.
Mitch and Tina won the most recent season of the reality show, winning $50,000 and beginning a relationship in the process.
They beat out couples Jess Velkovski and Aaron Waters, and Chris Graudins and Zoe Clish in a public vote to take out the winning spot.
None of the Love Island couples from the most-recent season have lasted long-term, but Chris Graudins and Lexy Thornberry have since begun a relationship together.
