In the late 90s and early 2000s, twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were serious ‘it’ girls.
Their matching yet somehow different fashion ensembles were iconic.
And their movies… How do we even begin to describe the Olsen twins’ movies?
They were so good, to say the absolute least.

If, like us, you sometimes get hit with nostalgia and just want to order a pizza, do your nails and chuck on a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie, we’ve got you.
How many Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movies are there?
Mary-Kate and Ashley starred in more than 30 projects together.
They made their acting debut in the TV show Full House, sharing the role of Michelle Tanner.
After that, the twins went on to star in 15 movies together.

Where can I watch Mary-Kate and Ashley movies?
It’s incredibly hard to find Mary-Kate and Ashley movies on Australian streaming platforms because of complex distribution rights and a lack of digital licensing deals.
Most of their films were released directly to VHS (remember VHSs?!) in the ‘90s and early 2000s through their own company, Dualstar Entertainment – which no longer actively distributes its catalogue (boo!).
As a result, many of their movies haven’t been digitised for modern streaming or licensed out to platforms like Netflix or Stan.
However, with all that being said, we’ve found a few Mary-Kate and Ashley movies you can actually stream in Australia…

It Takes Two
A classic twin switch-up with major Parent Trap energy. Mary-Kate plays a tomboy orphan and Ashley’s the rich girl with a heart. They swap lives to play matchmaker and escape their stuffy realities. Cue food fights, horseback rides, and a very 90s romance subplot that’s pure comfort viewing.

Billboard Dad
In peak 90s-LA style, the girls scheme to find their widowed dad a date by plastering his face on a giant billboard. Expect Venice Beach vibes, quirky suitors, and a lot of sisterly meddling. It’s chaotic, charming, and unapologetically drenched in butterfly clips and mini backpacks.

Passport to Paris
Bonjour, fashion and flirtation! Mary-Kate and Ashley head to Paris to visit their diplomat grandpa, but they’d rather eat baguettes and flirt with cute French boys than attend formal dinners. Eiffel Tower smooches, scooter rides, and Eiffel-worthy outfits make this one très chic and totally iconic.

Switching Goals
Soccer and twin drama collide as Mary-Kate and Ashley play sisters with wildly different personalities (sporty vs. girly) who swap soccer teams to prove they’re more alike than they think. It’s all ponytails, penalties, and peak girl power.

New York Minute
The ultimate Y2K twin adventure. Ashley’s a perfectionist with Ivy League dreams, Mary-Kate’s a messy drummer who constantly skips school. They clash and crash through one wild day in New York City involving a Simple Plan music video shoot, a dognapping, and one very determined truant officer – played by Emmy winner Eugene Levy.
