We knew it all along, but yearning season is officially back, and we have BookTok’s favourite author, Dolly Alderton, to thank.
In *huge* news for fans of Jane Austen’s classic novel (and 1995 Colin Firth in a billowy white shirt), Pride and Prejudice is receiving yet another screen adaptation, but this time, as a mini-series.

According to Deadline, the latest iteration of the period drama will commence production with the Netflix crew later this year, and if Bridgerton is anything to go by, the latest Regency era drama is set to become our latest obsession.

Who is the cast of the Pride and Prejudice series?
Just when we thought the announcement couldn’t get any more perfect, Netflix have already confirmed that Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden have signed on as the new Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy.
“Playing Elizabeth Bennet is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To be able to bring this iconic character to life, alongside Olivia and Jack, with Dolly’s phenomenal scripts, is truly the greatest honour. I can’t wait for a new generation to fall in love with this story all over again,” Emma shared, with Olivia Colman also joining the project as Mrs. Bennet.

When will the Pride and Prejudice series be released?
In sad news for those of us counting down the days until Emma and Jack’s new Lizzie and Darcy, we unfortunately will have to wait a bit longer.
While Netflix has confirmed that production will kick off in late 2025, they have yet to release a definite release date, however, based on their previous blockbusters, we should expect to see the series hit streaming around late 2026.
