Dog lovers, rejoice! A new six-part docu-series is coming to Netflix on November 16, dedicated entirely to Man’s Best Friend.
The series, helmed by six critically-acclaimed, Oscar-nominated directors, examines the unique emotional bond dogs share with their owners from across the world.
The series travels to the US, Syria, Japan, Costa Rica and Italy, looking at several owners and their pets.
The first episode looks at 11 year-old Corrine and her canine assistance buddy, Rory, who helps her owner cope with traumatic seizures.
“This episode highlights the depths of a closely formed friendship between a child and their dog, the unbreakable trust they have in each other and the incredible power of a dog’s ability to assist humans in health and wellness,” Netlflix says.
We also meet an Italian fisherman and his loyal Labrador Ice, a dog groomer from Japan, and we check in with Ayham, a Syrian refugee desperate to be reunited with his Siberian husky, Zeus, who is stuck in the war-torn country.
“Dogs takes us on an inspirational journey exploring the remarkable, perhaps even magical qualities that have given these animals such a special place in all of our hearts,” Netflix says in its release.
But a word of warning – have your tissues at the ready. This series will seriously tug at your heartstrings.
