He made an emotional exit from Wimbledon on July 4, but Nick Kyrgios seems to have found happiness on a relaxing holiday with his girlfriend, fellow tennis player Ajla Tomljanovic, 23, in her native Croatia.
The world No. 18, who was beaten by Andy Murray in straight sets, has shared a number of snaps to Instagram documenting their idyllic European getaway.
In one photo the pair—who confirmed their relationship in February after months of speculation—are seen cosying up to one another while sunbaking on a yacht. Kyrgios captioned it: “Sleepy head.”
Another snap shows the couple reclining on the deck of a boat, with Kyrgios writing simply, “Moments.”
The holiday comes after the sportsman revealed he “doesn’t love” tennis, during a post-match press conference following his defeat at Wimbledon.
“I don’t love this sport,” he said. “But I don’t know what else to do without it.”
“One week, I’m pretty motivated to train and play. Another week, I’ll just not do anything. I don’t really know a coach who would be down for that one.”
Kyrgios and Tomljanovic, who was born in Croatia and moved to Brisbane in 2014, competed as a mixed doubles team in the Australian Open earlier this year, and after they were knocked out Kyrgios said he loved partnering her.
“Just being on the court with her, I was in a nice place,’” he said in a press conference following the match. “We practice a lot together—I know what her tendencies are on court, I know what her strengths are so I know what she likes to do out there. It was easy.”
