Where are the cast of One Tree Hill now?

Believe it or not, it’s been 20 years since One Tree Hill premiered.

After airing the first season in 2003, The Warner Bros and The CW Network series, One Tree Hill, continued until 2012 and produced nine seasons total.

The series made its name as an iconic team drama, and even to this day, is still watched regularly by all generations.

The five high school friends, commonly referred to as the Core Five, were bonded both on-screen and off-screen, and it has mostly remained that way even after all these years.

It’s only right to look back at the iconic cast and see what they’ve been up to since the show first aired.

Chad Michael Murray as Lucas Scott

Chad Michael Murray was the teen heartthrob of the 2000’s… and that hasn’t changed.

After playing Lucas Scott and stealing the hearts of many teenage girls, Murray continued his career with various main and side roles in numerous movies and TV shows.

After playing characters like Austin Ames in A Cinderella Story and Tristan Dugray in Gilmore Girls, he claimed his title as ultimate teenage heartthrob – but his conquest didn’t stop here.

More recently, Murray has played Edgar Evernever in Riverdale, Jack Thompson in Agent Carter and stars in a new series that aired this year called Sullivan’s Crossing.

Now 42, Murray is married to actress and model, Sarah Roemer, has three children, and still appears in TikTok edits from his roles played almost 20 years ago – his legacy lives on.

Sophia Bush as Brooke Davis

It’s safe to say Brooke Davis, played by Sophia Bush, was one of the most memorable characters on the show.

Yes, Bush will always be remembered as Brooke Davis, but you may have seen her on some other hit TV shows as of late.

Bush plays Erin Lindsay in Chicago, PD, Dr. Sam Griffith in the new medical drama, Good Sam, and played Veronica in popular teen drama, Love, Victor.   

Now 41, Bush has also undertaken many personal projects; she is the co-founder of clothing store Fashionkind, has her own podcast called Work in Progress, and is part of a podcast with co-stars Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz called Drama Queens.

James Lafferty as Nathan Scott

Nathan Scott, basketball player and boy-toy, was portrayed by the one and only James Lafferty.

Since his iconic role, Lafferty has gone on to both act in and produce many films and TV shows.

He directed some episodes of The Royals where he met and fell in love with his now wife, Australian actress Alexandra Park, as well as producing and starring in the TV series Everyone is Doing Great.

Now 38, Lafferty currently resides in Los Angeles and most recently worked on sports, drama television series All American.

Hilarie Burton as Peyton Sawyer

Peyton Sawyer, played by Hilarie Burton, was the edgy artist and “loner” cheerleader who eventually stole the heart of our collective childhood crush, Lucas Scott.

Since her time as Peyton, Burton has starred in TV shows like Good Sam with One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush, and The Walking Dead.

Now 41, Burton is married to actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan who is most known for his role as Negan in The Walking Dead.

The couple have two children together, son Augustus and daughter George, and they love to document their lives together on social media.

She has also taken on many personal projects of her own; she owns a sweet shop in New York called Samuels Sweet Shop and owns a farm with her husband, The Mischief Farm, as well as being part of the podcast, Drama Queens, with Bush and Lenz.

Pursuing a new career as an author, Burton released her own book in 2020 titled The Rural Diaries: Love, Livestock, and Big Life Lessons Down on Mischief Farm. She has also released a new book called, Grimoire Girl, where she shares her “life-saving knowledge” through a collection of memoir essays and magical practices.

Bethany Joy Lenz as Haley James Scott

Haley Scott was a relatable character for many teenage girls in the 2000’s. She was Lucas’ childhood best friend who ended up falling in love and marrying his brother, Nathan.

Since One Tree Hill, Lenz has starred in many movies and TV shows like Dexter, Grey’s Anatomy and Good Sam, while also partaking in the Drama Queens podcast with her other co-stars.

Now 42, Lenz continued her music career on and off over the years but hadn’t made music since her last Christmas EP, Snow, was released in 2020. However this year, Lenz came out with a new single called Strawberries.

Separate from being a singer/songwriter and actress, Lenz has made her way into the publishing world. At the end of August, Lenz released the first issue of her own newspaper, Modern Vintage News, a lifestyle, broadsheet newspaper that is delivered right to your door.
