Congratulations are in order for Danielle Brooks who just revealed she welcomed her first child, a beautiful baby girl.

The Orange Is the New Black actress— who plays Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson in the Netflix prison drama— shared the exciting news on Instagram and Twitter, revealing she gave birth to her new bundle of joy on November 16.
“11.16.19. She’s perfect,” the Hollywood star captioned the black-and-white photo of her newborn bub resting against her chest. “Yes it’s true. I birthed a diamond… My sweet chocolate butterball,” she added.
The exciting announcement was met with a flurry of congratulatory messages from some of the world’s biggest stars.
“Omg. Congratulations darling. You’re a mommy,” Danielle’s OITNB co-star Laverne Cox wrote.
“My heart is exploding!!!!!!!! So so so so happy for you ahhhhhh,” Emma Cat added.
Throughout her pregnancy, Danielle kept it real with her fans, featuring all the good, bad and difficult parts of childbirth. Days before she was set to welcome her bub, she wrote on Instagram:
“This moment is sacred. This moment is about birth and RE-birth. This moment is discovering new parts of myself that I never knew existed before. This moment is about gaining clarity on what I will or will not except so that when my daughter watches me, she is clear on who she is and what she believes.
“This moment is understanding what’s worth my energy and what is not. This moment is unapologetically leaning on those that truly understand the definition of family and friendship. This moment is about experiencing all that life has to offer me as a woman. I’m living and basking in the right now! And it feels damn good.”
After teasing she had some “exciting news to share”, the award-winning actress revealed she was expecting her first child on July 2.
“So elated to finally share this news with you all,” the 30-year-old captioned an Instagram photo of her holding a pregnancy test. “I’m happily pregnant!” Throughout her pregnancy journey, the actress found ways to support body positivity and empower other women to embrace the beauty of pregnancy.
In another snap shared to her Instagram Story, Danielle showed off her bulging baby bump, revealing she’s into her pregnancy and “counting my blessings”.
“When one chapter ends, another begins. Super excited to share with you my new beginning. I’M PREGNANT,” she wrote.
While the star is notoriously private about her love life, in 2018 the actress— who stars alongside Taylor Schilling and Jason Biggs in OITNB— revealed she was off the market by debuting her new beau on Instagram. The mum-to-be also posted a beautiful photo of the pair on Valentines Day, revealing what they have is “true love”.
True love is when your partner agrees to wear a hairnet to ride go-carts. ❤️ #valentinesday Love you D,” she wrote.
Since then, she hasn’t confirmed whether he’s the father of her child.
