Her dad was the King of Pop, and now Paris Jackson, 18, has paid tribute to another late pop icon.
Michael Jackson’s only daughter dyed her hair purple in honour of Prince, who passed away of an overdose in April. It was the Kiss singer’s favourite colour.
“Side effects to dancing in the purple rain for too long include stained hair,” she captioned the Instagram photo of her new look on July 12.
The image also shows her collection of new body art, including Prince’s love symbol and a lightning bolt in memory of David Bowie, who passed away on January 10.
The teenager also has the word “Bad” for her father’s hit single, the artwork for his album Dangerous and the words “Queen of my heart” etched on her skin.
Jackson explained the reasons behind her growing collection of tattoos on June 15, writing on Instagram: “My scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity. . .and depth.”
“Sure I will always carry my past with me, but I see ink as a way of changing for the better, always improving. They represent strength for me. I look back at my old self and then I look in the mirror, and I see a fighter looking back at me.”
