In a lengthy interview with Vultures’ David Marchese, the Emmy-winning actor was asked about how he felt about where his character is left at the end of the eighth and final season of the HBO fantasy series. “I think [Tyrion] was given a very good conclusion,” he told the magazine. “No matter what that is – death can be a great way out.”

Whether his comment was a spoiler or a calculated move to throw Thrones fans off scent remains to be seen but he’s not the only cast member who has spoken about how the story concludes for the likes of Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen now production on the impending finale has wrapped up.

Kit Harrington, whom plays Jon Snow, last week revealed he hasn’t even told wife Rose Leslie how the show concludes while Isaac Hempstead Wright told THR the ending will upset some fans. “It will be too happy for some people, or too sad, or too whatever,” said the 19-year-old actor, who plays Bran Stark. “That’s the nature of an ending. Midway through a season, there’s always the idea that this is going to continue and somewhere along the way we’ll make up for it all. When it comes to a conclusion, this is the end. Nothing more is coming, and the certainty of it being over will definitely bother people. But overall, I think we’re going to smash it.”

Speaking to Vanity Fair, actress Emilia Clarke, 31, hinted that the Mother of Dragon’s final scenes were set to be controversial. “It f—ed me up,” she said of her last moments as Daenerys. “Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavour in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is . . .”

Regardless of how the award-winning series ends, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, believes it was always going to divide audiences.

“I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think,” the British actress told IGN News. “I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions, but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking…”
