A tour through the kitchen at the Youthscape Project in Luton, 56km north of London, prompted Princess Kate to dish on 3-year-old Prince George’s culinary craftiness.
“So, what are you making? This smells seriously good,” Kate asked a group of teens cooking chocolate crispy cakes. “What are you putting in? Is this just chocolate? Golden syrup? Good, good.”
She then admitted, “When I try to do this with George at home, chocolate and the golden syrup goes everywhere. He makes so much mess. It’s chaos.”
The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge arrived at Luton’s Bute Mills on Aug. 24 to tour the mill building, re-opened in April after a $6.56 million re-fit to become the new home for UK youth charity Youthscape, which not only provides a drop-in centre but promotes youth work training and health services.
Looking at the chocolate crispy cakes, known sweets lover Prince William said, “It smells very good in here. I think I’ve got time for just one. Can I try one?” He then took a bite out of a cake and broke off a piece for Kate to try.
“Delicious,” Kate said, nibbling on cake while wearing a blue and white poppy print dress from L.K. Bennett.
Later in the day, while chatting with parents at Keech Hospice Care, she confessed to local mum Suzanne Dow that her son was a pasta fiend.
“She said, ‘George likes his spaghetti as well,” Dow told reporters. “He’d love to get messy.'”
