Beauty and the Geek’s Gabrielle, 20, and Frank, 28, suffered the devastating blow of becoming the first pair to get booted from the show on Sunday night.

Gabrielle and Frank landed themselves in the bottom two pairs after the Beauty struggled with a cosplay challenge, where the girls were required to perform a superhero routine in front of a live audience.
“I felt pretty bad because I knew how much Frank really wanted to be there because the challenge was a girls challenge and I kind of messed it up,” Gabrielle told WHO.
“A hundred per cent I did not know what to expect. It was a different kind of confidence.
“I’m confident but not when it comes to standing on stage in front of the public and having to perform. It was terrifying to say the least, but it was still a great experience to get out of my comfort zone.”
Gabrielle, a criminology student and part-time model, said there is “no way in hell” she would have applied for the show if she knew the challenges would entail public speaking.
“It’s really out of my comfort zone. Having to do those things – I can do them and not great obviously but I just need to believe in myself and have a bit more faith in myself,” she said.
“Even though I embarrassed myself it was a great experience and I learnt a lot about myself.”
The pair were eventually eliminated on Sunday night’s episode after losing a challenge against Jess and Jackson, where the contestants were required to blow balls into five small holes at the end of an obstacle course.
In previous seasons, there hadn’t been as much of a focus on the beauties forming a romantic connection with the geeks.
Gabrielle and Frank said this concept caught them by surprise during filming.
“I wasn’t expecting it. I thought it was more of a social experiment sort of thing,” Gabrielle said.
“[Me and Frank] had a great connection and we continued a friendship outside show. It’s more platonic but I love Frank as a friend. The outcome was great.”
Frank, a 28-year-old emergency doctor, said the new format came as a shock to him.
“I’ve watched every season, and sometimes romance happens but that’s kind of more of a bonus but it took me off guard,” he said.
“It was still fun and the challenges are still fun. I would have loved to take gab out, we would have had some great times together.
“But [the focus on romance] was one thing that I really wasn’t expecting.”
Despite being the first pair to be eliminated from the hit reality show, Gabrielle and Frank said they have taken away lifelong lessons during their four-episode stint.
“I learnt to be myself and not care what others think of me,” the 20-year-old criminology student said.
“I would always freak out about everyone judging me and Frank’s like ‘Gab who cares, you’re doing it for you’ and that’s resonated with me a lot.
“It’s helped me outside of Beauty and the Geek and I’m forever grateful for that.”
Frank said the experience made him learn to relax and not take himself too seriously, thanks to Gabrielle’s laidback temperament.
“I learned it’s okay to just chillax a bit and not be too serious about things. It’s certainly allowed me to be more relaxed in my personal life,” he said.
“She’s given me advice about dating and that’s been very much appreciated.
“I know more about women’s fashion now that about men’s fashion. I’m definitely more into wearing contrasting colours now,” he laughed.
When it comes to which pair they want to see take out the $100,000 winning prize, Gabrielle and Frank have their money on “power couple” Jess and James.
“I would like to see them win. They work really well together as a pair,” Gabrielle said.
“I do think realistically they’re the ones that are gonna take out the title,” Frank added.
“But I can’t go past my boy Kyle. I love him like a brother and I absolutely want him to win. If not Kyle it’s going to be my boy Lachlan.”
